LAYTON VIETNAM MEMORIAL – [1 mile away] This is an incredible memorial to the 58,317 young men and women lost to the Vietnam War. It offers a solemn place and atmosphere of closure for those still trying to make it home. There are 8 benches along the walk-way, each dedicated to one of the women on the Wall. It is the fulfillment of a promise that a Vietnam Veteran made when he left Vietnam in 1967 - that the world will never forget what we did there - the dedication, loyalty and service with integrity of each and every service man or woman who served during the Vietnam War. All names are on the Wall - same panel and location as the original in D.C. You can arrange for a Vietnam Veteran to meet you at the Wall to talk to you about it development and construction and to help you find a loved one or acquaintance on the Wall.
