A bustling niche in the city of Silver Spring, just to miles from the property, is chock full of fun things to do. A variety of culturally diverse eateries are sure to please. Pop-up activities occur regularly in and around the Civic building. A small ice skating rink is operational in the winter which converts to a music and dance performance space throughout the remainder of the year. A huge movie complex is located hear along with the historic Silver Theater and cultural center on Colesville road.

Bargain hunters will appreciate the Marshall's, Ross and TJ Maxx. On the weekends, there is a farmer's market, a crafts fair, and often free live music.
