Monells is a mediaeval village built around the former castle of which only the outer walls are still preserved. Take a gentle stroll through its streets contemplating the beauty of its houses until you reach the magnificent porticoed Plaça Jaume I square, where a very important market was held during the mediaeval period. The charm and the excellent restoration of this square and of the streets of Monells have attracted the filming of advertising spots of all kinds and of a large part of the Spanish film “Ocho apellidos catalanes”.
