This is a good place to visit if you have children. The mechanical art and design museum is the only permanent venue for this type of art in the country. Sourced from artists and inventors all around the world, the interactive sculptures – or ‘kinetic art’ – include marble runs, 3D faces and flying mechanical birds. Kids younger than 5 get in free

We've the UK's only MAD museum. Some exhibits are hands-on, but all are professionally made and fascinate with their moving parts. Some ready to assemble kits are sold

As it says in the title the MAD museum is full of MAD things which everyone will love. MAD is actually 'Mechanical Art and Design' and the level of creativity that goes into making these pieces is quite incredible
