Great family day, highlight is tractor rides around the beautiful Bolton abbey countryside -lots to do for all plenty of indoor areas as well and small cafe

This working farm has over 1,000 cattle, sheep and pigs. The large, heated undercover barn is a cosy place to retreat to if the weather turns bad where you can feed and stroke the animals without getting wet or cold! Back outside is a giant sandpit to dig for treasure in and a straw maze to get lost in!

out half an hour drive on the edge of the North York Moors National Park is Bolton Abbey, beautiful ruins with vast areas to walk and explore, dogs are welcome. Suitable for all ages and within close vicinity is Billy Bobs, a super American Diner that has a huge range of ice-cream and really fun outdoor play area and play barn, really fun place for kids and adults to dine (you can eat in a school bus!). You can park your car at Embsay Steam railway and get the steam train to Bolton Abbey, again, great fun for all ages. Hesketh Farm is a great farm with loads of activities for children. You can easily spend a day or more exploring this area.

Lovely family trip out to this working farm with a large outdoor playground. We love being taken on a trailer ride around the fields to see the cows and giving the guinea pigs a cuddle. Nice cafe serving drinks and cakes. About 15 minutes drive from Ellergill Barn.
