An absolute classic expression of New York City-style pizza. The old-school, rough-hewn, cash-only Village classic has wooden booths that are etched with decades of graffiti. Go with a party of four and you’ll definitely get a booth—as opposed to a table—and you can slide the little ones right in to make it easier to keep an eye on them. They serve only pies. That’s it. I love the plain because of the delish way the hot coal oven randomly chars the bottom, and all I need is sauce and cheese. My boys love the fresh Italian sausage.
