There are many small canyons to explore with the family, with the closest being right across the street! Switzer canyon is complete with a tunnel that takes you under 30th street. Adults may have to duck down a bit.

Canyons are one of our favorite hidden gems in San Diego! You can be in the middle of a developed area and then suddenly in nature with canyons.

I love this urban canyon trail right in our neighborhood. Check out sdcanyonlands.org/maps for a full map of the canyon lands. You'll want the one that says 32nd St./North Park/South Park.
