What a wonderful idea to turn a tragic loss of beautiful stately old trees due to hurricane into works of art for all of us to enjoy and enable the turning of some of the bad memories of the terrible destruction of a hurricane into something good.

Explore the city and learn about how the city made a rebound after Hurricane Ike and preserved some of the trees lost. Download the Galveston.VIP Digital Guide App for a map of where to find the sculptures.

This is so cool trees that died during the hurricanes have been carved into magnificent sculptures. A MUST SEE!

Tour the Tree sculptures from Hurricane Ike recovery. When trees were lost, they had an artist create sculptures from remaining trees. A lot of these sculptures can be seen by walking through the east end Historical District. Most of all, this option is free and kid-friendly, as well as furry-friendly!
