Find out how a Monorail system designed for use in the desert and inspired by pack camels ended up running between Listowel and Ballybunion from 1888-1924. See black and white footage from that era and take a trip on the train. Interesting and fun, and run by knowledgeable volunteers.

Visit Listowel’s Monorail Train and Museum. Take a trip back in time and see what the Lartigue Monorail looked like this re-creation of the historical railway that ran from Listowel to Ballybunion between 1888 and 1924. Footage in our film is over 100 years old and gives an insight into the train long ago and then shows the re-making of the Train. Spend an hour or so altogether re-living the past!
