It's a very nice place to enjoy your Cafe and snack giving the opportunity to your kids to spent their time in the playard and butterflies in their nature environment.

Butterflies Valley ( Petaloudes) is located 5 km south of Parikia , near the Monastery of Jesus Woods ( for the ladies only) . The entire area is quite similar to a park and there are well-defined pathways that meander through the lenght and breadth of the Butterfly Valley. Late spring and during the summer, numerous butterflies cover the whole valley.You will be able to spot the butterflies in shaded areas or in the bushes. It is a quiet park with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. There is also a small cafe in the park where you can buy a drink, a coffe, a snack and a souvenir. The bus stop just at the beggining of the valley.

This is a conservation project as well as a visitor attraction. The 'butterflies' are actually moths of only one specific species which return to this special site every year to breed. The small valley is a cool, tranquil oasis away from the heat of the day and there are some wonderful old trees there too. If you love nature and are concerned about the loss of habitats this place is for you.

7 km west from Parikia , near the Monastery of Christos sto Dasos (or Agios Arsenios ), there is place well known as the «Valley of the Butterflies or Petaloudes» (from a Greek translation), an idyllic landscape of dense vegetation and abundant running water, a unique monument of Natural beauty. The Valley is clearly demarcated from the main road that happens to pass above it. The area is a small park with paths and steps, so making your way around is rather easy. There is a small fee to enter, but it’s worth for the shade and a quiet place to rest . The park is open from June to September from 9AM to 8PM. The best way to reach this sight would be by renting a scooter or car and tours are also available from Parikia and Naoussa.
