The small village of Sandsend lies between Runswick Bay and Whitby. It's picturesque and has a clean, sandy beach with small rivers running into the sea on either side. An excellent destination for a family day out.

Go early! There is very limited parking on this lovely beach.

Great beach with Lifeguard through summer months. The small stream, East Beck, runs down and is a magnet for younger children with their dinghies and buckets and spades. Surfing and paddle boarding often seen even in the winter. Lovely 3 mile walk to Whitby when the tide is out.
