Nearby Torry Battery, formerly fortified and last used defensively in WWII is now an ancient monument. Today it is an excellent viewing spot for dolphins at play and is a popular destination for tourists wishing to view some wildlife whilst staying in a city. Close by are the remains of a rocket-propelled life-saving apparatus station and a Robert Stevenson - designed lighthouse and accompanying disused foghorn. At Torry Battery Car park you get an exquisite view of the resident bottlenosed dolphins feeding in the harbour mouth. During April - August join RSPB Dolphinwatch for guided viewing of these intelligent animals.

The Torry Battery is a disused artillery battery near Torry in Aberdeen which has overlooked the city's harbour since 1860. Its a favourite spot for Dolphin watching and they can be seen jumping at the harbour most days. You can also walk along the coast to Nigg lighthouse just a little further up the coast. Its just a few minutes in the car or around a 25 minute walk along the River Dee and through Torry.

Great place for Dolphin spotting when the weather is right. Also provides a great view of Aberdeen Beach and Harbour and back up over the city. Is a bit our of the city centre so easiest accessed with a car.

Not to see Torry Battery but to watch the dolphins at the mouth of Aberdeen harbour. It is one of the best places in Scotland for regularly seeing a large pod of Dolphins. Take binoculars if possible and park at the Torry Battery car park. Free parking.
