Only 4.8 miles from the cabin, this hike is one of the popular ones for getting up to the high ridges for the really breathtaking views. It's not one for a lazy stroll, you start at about 70' elevation and if you go all the way to over 6,600' in about 5 miles if you go to the south peak. You will need a Chugach State Park day use parking pass for the trailhead.

Get to know this 13.6-mile out-and-back trail near Palmer on Knik River Road. Generally conisidered to be a challenging route, it takes an average of 11 hours to complete. This trail is great for hiking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring.
