Place de la Bastille was famous for being a prison where the France revolution started. Today not much of the prison is left apart from some stones/walls visible from the metro. It has now turned into a busy night life spot with plenty of restaurants and bars. I’d advise to head to rue de lappe and rue de la roquette for some great bars
