If you want to try to get a flavour of what London may have been like way back when, then a walk around St James's is a must. There are so many beautiful shops and spots you can stroll past and you should check out the St James's directory. These are some favourites: Paxton and Whitfield at 93 Jermyn Street (one of the oldest cheesemongers in England); Floris at 89 Jermyn Street (a perfume shop founded in 1730); Lock and Co at 6 St James' (one of the oldest hatters in England); Berry Brothers (a beautifully old wine merchant).
