Greenwich is a borough in London, England, on the banks of the River Thames. Known for its maritime history, it's home to the Cutty Sark, a restored 19th-century ship, the huge National Maritime Museum, and the classical buildings of the Old Royal Naval College. The modern O2 arena sits on a peninsula to the north. Overlooking peaceful Greenwich Park, the Royal Observatory is the site of the Greenwich meridian line.

Greenwich is a very historic and beautiful part of London. Greenwich Mean Time starts right in beautiful Royal Greenwich park, so in a way the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory! Greenwich has a rich maritime history, with the National Maritime Museum, Old Royal Naval College, Queens House and also you can visit the old tea clipper ship The Cutty Sark. Greenwich covered market, established in 1737, is a dynamic, delicious and colourful experience, packed with arts, crafts and tasty food. The market is open 7 days a week 10am - 5.30pm. Enjoy tasty street food spanning cuisines from across the world, including vegan and gluten-free options. From the river side near the market, you can travel to other parts of London by the UBER riverboat including London Bridge or for the quickest journey to London Bridge take the overground train, which takes just eight minutes. London Bridge houses the fabulous Borough Market for more London culinary delights. Plus you are a hop, skip and jump away (3 minutes on the train) from ‘The Southbank’ by Waterloo station, where The National Theatre, The British Film institute and The Royal Festival Hall is situated. The O2 arena is in North Greenwich where many great events and concerts are and the Air Line cable cars offers scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks. Greenwich is steeped in ye ol English history as the town became the site of a royal palace, the Palace of Placentia in the 15th century, and was the birthplace of many Tudors, including Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. For a stunning vista of London and one of my favourite places to go, find Statue of General James Wolfe in Greenwich park. From this place you can see all across Greenwich park, The Thames and wider london, it is breathtaking! To find the spot go to The Greenwich Meantime museum and look for the statue! The Cutty Sark ship has it’s own Museum on the shores of the Thames. Here is more about the Cutty Sark: Launched on 22 November 1869 in Dumbarton, Scotland, it embarked on its maiden voyage from London to Shanghai on 16th February 1870. On its first voyage, Cutty Sark carried ‘large amounts of wine, spirits and beer’, and came back from Shanghai loaded with 1.3 million pounds of tea. During its years as a British merchant ship, Cutty Sark visited sixteen different countries and travelled the equivalent of two and a half voyages to the moon and back! Do reach out if you have any questions! :)
