The edgier, busier neighbour to Stepney Green. Many bars, cafes and pubs plus a daily street market.

Bethnal Green is quite a mix of hipsters, young professionals and a large Bangladeshi community. The borough (suburb) is infamous for being the original East End of London where Cockney's (from Cockney rhyming Slang) used to live. The infamous Kray brothers used to eat at E Pellicci's on Bethnal Green Road! The Cockney's have mostly moved further east now as property prices have increased and the hipsters have moved in. If you're looking for a good and cheap breakfast Cafe 388 is very good. On the weekends there is usually a line. Paradise Row, which is close to the tube station, is filled with popular restaurants and bars under the railways line. There is a big Tesco Supermarket on the high street where you can buy groceries, bathroom products etc. There is also a 24 hour McDonalds right in front of the flat on the high street. The flat looks over Weavers field which is a nice to walk in and has a view of the city skyline. It used to be housing but was bombed heavily during world war II and they created the park after the war. If you're looking for a 5km run, Victoria Park is excellent and one lap is about 5km. There are lots of great cafe's round the park and the Pavillion Cafe is SO GOOD. Great coffee, food, views - everything. My favourite place for coffee is Fuckoffee. It's a 2 minute walk from the flat on Bethnal Green Road and as you can tell from the name they're a bit naughty.
