You can get to Cambridge by taking the 32 bus to Forest Hills, get on the orange line and travel to Downtown Crossing which is connecting station to the red line. Take the red line outbound towards Alewife and get off anywhere between Central Square and Porter Station. Want to visit Harvard, the red line takes you directly to its campus.

Cambridge is home to Harvard, MIT, Emerson, Leslie University... I don't know like 100 others as well. Its a beautiful town filled with rich history, lots of shops, river-front, restaurants, arts and wonderful public transit.
