Just booked in New York
Location, location, location! Large, classy, timeless, comfortable, entire top floor with private entrance in our private house out of a 1890's novel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one block from the East River. So easy to get to Manhattan by subway, ferry, cab or even foot, and all the best places in the "Burg" Wifi/cableTV/air/heat. (We stay in our separate floor below you never compromising your privacy!)
Perfect location on the Northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront scene, my place is a wood beamed classic, with hard wood floors and restored original brick wall. It is the top floor of a 1894 restored house on a very nice semi residential street block. The nicely outfitted place, "the country in the sky" as I refer to it, has a beautiful totally functional "Peerless" antique prewar stove for cooking, generous amounts of pots, a wood burning fire place and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. The feelings are cozy, warm, cabin like yet elegant. The kitchen and living room are in the same open area. There is a dining room table that seats 4, a beautiful brand new couch that folds down to become a very comfortable queen size bed that sleeps 2. Beyond the living area is the large master bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps 2 with a large antique dresser and 2 riverside windows. Off the master bedroom is a large tiled classic bathroom with an antique skylight and large tub with shower, and a small bedroom with a twin size bed and riverside window that is nice as a separate rest area, a great place for a child to sleep, or an out of sight room to put your luggage and things. My location is beyond great and safe. 10 minutes maximum in a cab or car service over the Williamsburg Bridge and you are in Manhattan. It is a short walk (3 min) to the North 6th Street East River Ferry ( the scenic quick river route to Midtown Manhattan or lower Manhattan, please check schedules). Subways: L train ( gray line): First stop in Brooklyn, only one stop to Manhattan and a neat 10 minute walk from my place going by shops, restaurants and street vendors to the very frequent Northside L train subway stop at Bedford Ave and North 7 St, (Everything you want to pick up to take back to my place is on Bedford Ave or Kent Avenue which are the walking routes to the subway. (Among the small shops, restaurants and bars, there is now a "Whole Foods" supermarket and a Iphone store on Bedford!) The JM subway that goes over the Williamsburg Bridge with wonderful views of the river and NYC skyline to lower Manhattan (Chinatown etc), is a little further (13 min walk ) through the South Side. After a night out in the neighborhood, you will find this quiet, comfortable, timeless place to come home to that is the top floor of a restored Williamsburg house. All East River parks are a short walk away with their spectacular river and skyline views. During the warm months the weekend flea/food markets down Kent Avenue/North 8 on weekends are fun and back dropped by the river and Manhattan skyline. Grand Street River Park is only a block and a half away. I love going there in the mornings with a cup of tea and taking in the NYC view. The quaint restaurants and music clubs are amazing and abundant, the "Williamsburg Foodtown" Market has all the groceries you need and frankly the only reason I would leave the "Burg" would be to go to a museum, St. Patrick's, Grand Central's Oyster Bar or ice skating at Rockerfeller Center. Indoor Flea Market on North 7th right off Kent Ave, "Mast Brothers Chocolate" on North 3rd off Berry, "Beer Garden" restaurant lunch, dinner, brunch with live music on Friday nights on North 3rd and Berry, "Sea" restaurant (Thai) on North 6, "Sweet Water" (Bistro) restaurant on North 6, "Dumont Burger" for awesome burgers on Bedford between South 2-3, "Aurora" (Northern Italian) with great brunches, lunches and dinners is right around the corner as is "Coxley's" sport bar with 40 beers on tap and great chicken wings on Grand St. "Teddy's" rest and bar (American Bistro) on North 8, a landmark that serves brunch, lunch and dinner and also has music sometimes at night, and the "Knitting Factory" music performance space and bar is 6 blocks away on Metropolitan. The best NY steak house, "Peter Luger's" reservations only, is in the vicinity. The floor is divided in 4 areas: upon entering you are in the kitchen and living, dining room with a wall and door that separates this space from the large bedroom in the front, the large tiled bathroom and the smaller front bedroom. The living area can easily convert to a sleeping area for 2. The place is adorable and sleeps four comfortably. Much quieter than most places in the area. Heat, air conditioning, wifi, fine linens/towels and kitchen utensils are provided for my guest. Full laundry drop off service and dry cleaners is available a couple of blocks up the street at "Berry Cleaners" or 302 Bedford Ave. My personal assistant/butler and I will check with you on your arrival time, hand over keys and be close at hand for anything you need during your stay. I and my husband are on our private lower floor of the house.
The neighborhood feels like a small village. It is very safe and has such a mixture of different foods, cultures, and restaurants. The Manhattan skyline views along Kent Ave can get no better and the wonderful Pier off North 5 on a Sunday afternoon is full of families, tourist and the occasional fisherman. During the warmer months there are outdoor flea markets and food markets of North 8 on the East River side. Bedford Avenue (3 blocks away) on the North and South side is filled with non chain restaurants, bars and shops.
  • friendly host, place was clean, good location

  • The apartment is very comfortable and as you see in the photos. Never got to meet Maria or Azul but help was at hand if needed via a quick text message. The area is great, buzzing with fantastic cocktail bars, coffee, craft beer and Food from everywhere. If you wanted a night at home then just down the road is one of the best Deli/Supermarkets I have seen. You are a short walk from the East River Taxi Ferry, and cheap at only $4.00 each way. Stay on board all the way to Dumbo and then over to Wall St. Some of the best views in town. Look forward to our next visit....Best Wishes Nigel & Gary

  • Très bien placé dans le quartier, à côté de la station de métro Bedford l'appartement est convivial bien aménagé même si le confort est un peu sommaire.

  • We Spent 4 fantastic days in Maria's apartment : it is perfectly located in Williamsburg - really close to Bedford avenue and it's typical Brooklyn vibe. The apartment is clear and spacious :) We got welcome by Azule who really took good care of us, that was perfect! On top of that the access to the roof get us enjoyed an amazing view of Manhattan and a perfect place to have a drink before going out! Best place so far in Brooklyn, definitively recommending it to everybody wanting to live NYC at its best :)

  • From start to finish our stay in Brooklyn was dreamy! Maria was really helpful and fast to reply for all my questions before I booked and made sure I was happy. On the build up before the trip, she was also very helpful and made everything very easy! The room is beautiful, the pictures dont do it justice, the brickwork, the hipster vintage feel, the super soft bedsheets and all the little ornaments make you feel like youre in your own slice of Brooklyn! The location is ideal, a 10min walk to the metro which is 3 stops from central Manhattan. Within 30mins you can be walking up 5th Ave! Williamsberg is also a delight with its fancy shops and carefree attitude, and staying here meant we were right in the heart of it with loads to do! We loved our time here, Maria and Azul were helpful and great hosts and we cant wait to come back!

  • Great apartment, great building, great location. It's a couple of minutes walk to the waterside and I loved going there to watch the sun rise/ set and to just admire the Manhattan skyline. Williamsburg is a fun place to stay

    Linda2016-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice apartment in a nice area. Everything worked fine.

    Tomas2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin in the Sky fulfills my most important reason for using AirBnB--much more than "cheap housing," I'm looking for the experience of actually being a part of a community at the ground level, getting to know its ins and outs, and wondering, "could I live here?" This is definitely what Maria's place offers. We were in Williamsburg for a couple of concerts, and over four days we really got to know the neighborhood. You really couldn't ask for a better location: in addition to being close to tons of great eating/drinking establishments, you're a thirty-minute walk across the bridge into Manhattan. As for the "cabin" itself, it's full of charm and character. The living area and fireplace are super cozy and just the thing after a long day of tramping around the City. The bed was exceptional; I slept better in it than I had in months. The bathroom is a little rough around the edges, maybe too much for some. We had an issue with hot water our second day which resolved itself, and the Internet is spotty at best--we ended up using the hotspot on our cell phone. Overall, a solid AirBnb stay. I would probably stay here again and recommend it to anyone who wants an authentic Williamsburg experience.

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 400+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods and a couple of blocks from the Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • Carol and Marc are so wonderful and the best host ever that we consider them as new friends !!!!!! We totally enjoyed our holidays in this place! The apartment is amazing and exactly like on the pictures. We recommend this place for memorable vacation and we'll definitely come back :)

    Joris2013-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Carol and Marc were warm, friendly, and helpful. The apartment is beautiful, clean and close to several subway lines. I would return.

    Michael2014-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say....everything was perfect!!!! Carol and Mark are perfect hosts, not only they know lot of things and give you lot of tips about the city, but they're also wonderful persons! They are very warm and welcomed us as if we already knew! Carol gave us her number so we could (Hidden by Airbnb) her every time we needed to and she was always available!!!! The house is exactly how showed in the pictures, our room was very cosy and the bed soooo comfortable!!!!!!! The bathroom was very clean and spacious, and it was all for us!!! The rest of the house was so nicely furnished, it was nice to sit on the couch and watch the tv all together, especially when the weather was terrible! :)))) The location is very convenient, there's a subway station 5 minutes walking distance from home and chinatown, little Italy, soho, noho, etc are walking distance too! We'll definitely book again if we come back to ny!

    Sarah2015-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Carol and Marc was a great first time AirBnB experience for me. We had good communication before I arrived and they provided a really lovely guide of what to do around the lower east side. The room was spacious and well set up and the whole place was super neat and tidy. The best part was how friendly, inviting and relaxed Carol and Marc were. Would go back and would recommend it to family and friends.

    Kristi2015-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful experience in NY, thanks to the kindness and the receptiveness of Carol and Marc. The place is fantastic in one the best area of NY (for us), L.E.S., with many restaurants, bars, little shops, art galleries. The loft is very clean and convenient. Thank you so much, sure we will come again, that's why we would like to keep this special address just for us... Carol and Marc are not only sweet, but also very interesting, and they like to speak with their guests, we would like to see them at home, to continue talking. You could learn French there, Marc !

    Hélène2013-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Oh my gosh - Carol and Marc were so gracious and interesting and kind -- our stay was fabulous! Their place is really quite amazing - and we loved the private bath, private deck and our comfy bed. We had not explored the Lower East Side before and it is pretty amazing. We have only wonderful things to say about our stay and would suggest it to any folks looking for a warm and inviting place to stay while having fun in NYC!

    Jeanne2013-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We are so appreciative of Carol and Marc and their beautiful apartment and add one more fabulous review to the list. Every aspect of our 5-night stay was outstanding. Carol promptly answered all of our questions and concerns before we booked and they even emailed us information about local events and attractions before our visit. When we arrived, it immediately felt like we were visiting old friends. We were warmly welcomed and invited to make ourselves at home and to make use of the common facilities at any time. Marc and Carol are people who love people; they are warm and friendly yet respect their visitors’ privacy. We shared many wonderful conversations and laughs. The accommodations were excellent and we much appreciated the quiet bedroom located at the back of the apartment, far from the street noise. The apartment is clean and bright, even in the NYC winter (loved the Jacuzzi after a long day of walking)! The room and bed were very comfortable. The private elevator and large apartment were amazing perks for NYC. The neighborhood is vibrant, with many restaurants and other amenities, yet without the manic feel of midtown. It is an extremely convenient location, with subways close by and within walking distance of many other interesting neighborhoods.

    Sharon2014-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. It is close to many great restaurants, the subway, and the bus stop. It was very convenient. We felt welcomed and moment we met the hosts until the moment we left NYC (even after our check out). They were even welcoming to our little souvenir (a puppy) the few hours we had her before we had to leave. We will definitely give them a call next time we are going back to NYC!

Cozy, warm atmosphere, perfect for the traveler looking for a real NY experience. This reservation is for one person. If you want to book for 2 guests it is an extra $100 per night. Best neighborhood in midtown Manhattan for the best price. In the hub of Hell's Kitchen nightlife, restaurants, theaters, museums.
Bedroom is small, but very comforting. Kitchen is HUGE with tons of sunlight and every spice you can imagine for all you chefs. Very easy going apartment- smoking is perfectly fine. Part of the apartment is an art workshop. Bathroom is large with skylight. Apartment is in back of the building, so the apartment is very quiet. An oasis in midtown. This reservation is for one guest.
Hell's kitchen is THE center of the entire city. Some of the best and affordable restaurants in the city, with any type of cuisine you could want. The apartment is walk able to virtually any subway line in the city. The neighborhood is in the center of the arts, with Times Square, Broadway theaters, and Central Park a stone's throw away. A vibrant nightlife and artist community with a neighborhood feel. Anything you're looking for is here!

    Mikhail2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wholeheartedly recommended! I felt right at home, had great conversations over breakfast (great breakfast, too). Jeffrey knows the city inside out and was always there to help - he wouldn't let me walk out into the snow storm dressed inappropriately... Thank you, Jeffrey, for the memorable stay! P.S.: Colbert’s Late Show is taped a few blocks up Broadway - get a ticket for free on the internet - if you manage to get hold of one, though.

    Michael2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was outstanding, had great conversation, helped with my bags, his tea and oatmeal was outstanding, superior location, will be staying by him again!

  • Where to start... Jeffrey was so sweet, so helpful, so nice, so easy to chat with. He was everything I hoped for after reading all his amazing reviews. If you are looking for a chilled out place without headaches and easy to get to anywhere, Jeffrey’s house is Z one. I will miss Jeffrey greatly and if I ever go back to New York this is where I will stay again. And btw he also made me a beautiful silk scarf on demand. An amazing reminder of my wonderful time there :) wishing Jeffrey all the very best xxx

This is a comfortable studio apartment with exposed brick that has a true city feeling. This studio has a newly renovate bathroom and kitchen with stain steel appliances. The space fits four and is centrally located on a Historic quiet street. This unit is loaded with cable and wifi. Just blocks away from public transportation A and G train lines. And minutes away from the bus route B25 B26 and the B44. Come and explore the charm of Bed-Stuy and all the Historic's. I love this neighborhood. !
This historic section of Brooklyn is home to some of the most magnificent brownstones streets in the world, with charming architectural landmarks. There so many new restaurants and bars popping up in the area such as Peaches,Hot house,Royals, Saraghina, and Gallery.
  • The place was just as expected. A little farther away from the train but still within a close distance to drive and enough street parking.

There are some great bars nearby & both Manhattan & Williamsburg are only a short subway ride away. Will definitely be back to catch up with all the lovely people we met during our stay.

  • This is the perfect place to stay like a real New Yorker. Host was super helpful and accommodating, was willing to go above and beyond and definitely made the effort. Deli on every corner, juice spots, coffee, and late night bites around the area. Trains to downtown manhattan are accessible. Tv, wifi, couch, kitchen, and bathroom. Perfect space for a couple or someone traveling on their own.
