Had a lovely time! Was greeted by Jane on arrival who showed us all amenities and how to use them. Her instructions on how to get there were super helpful and was delighted to find biscuits awaiting us. Very cosy, even cosier when you light the fire place at night. The fridge wasn’t very cold, so something to be aware of when shopping but definitely not a necessity for a shorter stay like ours. We were lucky enough to get to meet her dog, who is very friendly! We were pleasantly surprised at how conveniently located it was, right in the middle of the local village, whilst still being close enough to enjoy the local hiking trails such as old man Coniston. There happened to not be a booking on the day of our leave so Jane was kind enough to give us a more flexible checkout. Definitely a place to stay if you’re wanting a weekend away in Coniston, even if it’s just for the dog ;)

The hut was spotless with clean crisp bedding. Two double beds in a bunk bed form, sink, toilet, shower small table and two chairs inside. However, with the weather being nice we spent most of our time outside on the picnic benches around the fire pit. Communication with the site was great and staff lovely. We took our two grandchildren and we had a great time in the shepherds hut. They loved the bunk beds and collecting twigs and fallen willow fluffy seeds to use to start the fire and toasting marshmallows at the fire pit. They also loved the play area which we could also use when the hall had closed. The area is very peaceful and clean. We nipped out to a takeaway for a pizza (12mins away) as the food places had closed when we got there. We did go to the Garden Room eatery for breakfast which was lovely. Would highly recommend coming here and would definitely be going back again.

We had a great two-night stay at Ben’s Hut in a beautiful, sunny countryside setting. The hut was warm and cosy with the shower room larger than expected. Everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided. The hut was spotlessly clean and the bed a good double size. The wi-fi signal was good for some online work we needed to do. Car parking was excellent with ample spaces near to the hut. We were welcomed by Andrew on the first night and had a couple of interesting chats with Lisa, who were both lovely. All in all a perfect stay.

A charming, comfortable gypsy caravan in a beautiful campground with a lovely ambience. Lots of lovely places to visit in the area. Everyone was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this caravan and the little oaks campground as a whole.

Having come to York to celebrate our anniversary, we could not have chosen a more perfect stay. Ruth’s hut was absolutely divine, cosy cute and perfect for a winter trip away. The log burner fire made for the perfect cosy evenings tucked away in peace and quiet - both Ruth and Ste were incredible hosts, friendly, helpful and we took up all Ste’s recommendations! (A trip to Pocklington is a must! The hide cafe had the best breakfast we have ever had!) We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to return soon!

Really really good stay. Enjoyed the use of the indoor and outdoor fires, especially under the stars and listening to the owls. Kathryn & Trevor have really used the space well and it feels very private. Trevor welcomed us from the beginning and was very friendly and showed us to the hut. Perfect weekend away to recharge and spend quality time with loved ones. Thank you for letting us stay in such a lovely peaceful space! Oh and the sheep are extremely friendly too!

Lovely hut in beautiful surroundings. Attention to detail and some thoughtful little extras made us feel welcome, warm and cosy (despite the freezing weather!), very much home from home. Perfect location for walking and exploring the countryside. Unfortunately it was too cloudy for star gazing but we'd love to come back!

Wow, what a place! 10/10 for everything! The location was amazing, beautiful views and the only neighbours were the cute sheep! A perfect place to escape, switch off and enjoy nature. The hut had everything you needed and was in the best location for walks. Would recommend to anyone! Can’t wait to come back. Catherine was a lovely host and made everything perfect for us. Looked exactly like the pictures - a really lovely stay right in the farm field, with chickens and sheep roaming just outside the front door. Really great for walks and was lovely and cozy when the log burner was on - thoroughly enjoyed our stay! :)

We have the most peaceful stay here! Brilliant communication from the hosts from the start and throughout. The hot tub was by far the best! We practically lived in it. It was lovely to see the beautiful surroundings and piggies! No complaints and hoping to return!

What a gem this place is, we had a wonderful stay at Shepherd's Watch! It was very clean, cosy, and relaxing. Lisa was on hand for everything we needed. The location is stunning and perfect for exploring all the nearby attractions. We could easily have spent longer here. Thank you for having us :)

Absolutely lovely stay! Rachel was a brilliant host and would reply to any messages straight away. The location was amazing and private, in a really good location & had gorgeous views. Really comfy bed, has everything you need. Also love the idea of no WiFi !

My wife and I had a great stay. The huts are in a beautiful location are an excellent base for going off hiking. Emma was a very attentive host with some great walk and restaurant suggestions. Highly recommended.

Brilliant stay, perfect location for exploring the peaks. Accommodation was small, but everything you needed was inside. Hot tub was a brilliant way to relax after a long days walking. Lovely local pubs/restaurants all within walking distance. Jill even allowed us to check in early which was brilliant. Wouldn’t highly recommended

What an absolutly stunning place! We loved the place from the photos and it definitely met expectations. such a beautiful location, very close to some lovely pubs and walks. Would 100% recommend.

Lovely night’s stay on the Pennine Way. Everything exactly as Hannah’s info. Gorgeous views and evening sun from the little bench. I was lucky enough to have great weather and didn’t need the stove but I imagine the hut would be really cosy with it. Delicious cake on arrival and bacon and egg butty to set me up for the day. (No cooking equipment but good food at the Green Dragon) Thank you Hannah!

Ashley’s place was perfect for a secluded escape in the countryside. The hut was very peaceful and private- just us and the sheep. The inside of the hut was beautifully decorated and well thought out. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor fires on an evening. Ashley was friendly, and gave us great recommendations for walks and pubs. Both pubs were 20 minutes walk away, across picturesque routes. We will be back!

Extremely comfortable shepherd’s hut with everything we needed (and a lovely shower!) which elevated our camping experience immensely. Thank you so much to our hosts - we’ll definitely be back!

Sue’s place is absolutely stunning, photos do not do it justice! We were so lucky with the weather, but the place is stunning regardless. Super secluded and private, the garden is well enclosed meaning our German Shepard could have a great run around.. The hot tub was fantastic and was a welcome relief from the heat during the day when it was cooler. Super comfy bed…we probably brought a bit too much food in hindsight as we couldn’t fit everything in the fridge, so if you plan to do your own meals maybe bring along a cool box etc. Such an amazing stay, thanks so much Sue.

I stayed here for 3 nights & it was absolute perfection. It was incredibly clean, cozy, peaceful & extremely dog friendly. The location couldn’t have been better for all the hikes I had planned in the peaks. I only wish I could have stayed longer & I absolutely will next time. The host is also very responsive & accommodating. 10/10, highly recommend!

Beautiful hut. Designed, crafted and decorated to a high quality. Lots of privacy, having the oak field all to ourselves...the dogs loved it, as did we. Bob and Lisa were very friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend a stay.
