LYCABETTUS HILL is the highest point of Athens, rising 277 meters above the city. You can reach it taking the funicular at Ploutarchou street (Evangelismos Metro Station). On top of this peak you will find the small whitewashed chapel of Agios Georgios (St. George). Enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the city, the open-air amphitheater, the Acropolis and the mountains surrounding Athens. Have a drink or dine in the café/restaurant, at the top and let the wind on the observation deck cool you down.
