The historic village of Haworth is just 3 miles from Midden Cottage.
Enjoy a walk on the Bronte Way which passes the front of the cottage - then take in the moorland scenery of Top Withens and the Bronte Falls, and continue on into Haworth in time for lunch or afternoon tea.
Meander down its cobbled main street and browse its independent shops, cafés, micro-bars, galleries, restaurants and the Brontë Parsonage.
It's a must for both Brontë and steam railway enthusiasts.
Visit ‘Haworth Steam Brewery’ with Yorkshire brewed beers and sample their range of dynamic flavour-inspired gins that showcase everything that’s best about Yorkshire.
Paint a pot to take back as a memento, whist having refreshments or lunch at ‘Cobbles & Clay’.
There are also special themed weekends in Haworth ie the 1940's weekend and the Steam Punk festival.
There are hourly busses from Haworth to Stanbury (the B1 bus) or Bronte Taxis can take you back to your doorstep.

Bolton Abbey is a lovely place to visit. You can walk round the Abbey ruins and adjacent Church. There’s a cafe, antique bookshop, and a nice circular walk with some great stepping stones over the river - and a bridge!

Harrogate, a bit further along from both Skipton and Ilkey, is home to the old Victorian Turkish Baths and a nice array of shops.
It also has a choice of two Betty's renowned tearooms, one in the centre of Harrogate and the other at Harlow Carr gardens.

Hebden Bridge, about 30 mins drive away, offers a wide range of alternative-culture shops, organic cafés and the fabulous old restored cinema “The Picture House”, or “The Little Theatre”, tucked below towering terraces of houses built into the hillside.
The canal runs through Hebden and canal boat rides can be booked through the summertime.
Heptonstall, an unspoilt weaving village, is just a stone’s throw up the hill and Yorkshire mill town Halifax, is a bit further along the Calder Valley.
