I'm adding places that are out doors, due to Covid-19. This refuge is nice this time of year because we have a lot of Migrating Birds that make New Mexico their winter home. Check out also the visitor center on your Navigation!

Science and Space interests, There is a visitor center out there , but check to see if it is open on the web site. The Movie "Contact" starring "Jodie Foster" was filmed out there. Very nice drive. Make sure to fill up with gas in Socorro before you head up! Not sure what is open up that way, I'm sure there are gas Stations open in "Magdalena" Magdalena is also a neat ole town with a lot of historic sites . The Kelly Mines! Check it out since you are up that way!

Close to the town of Mountainair. Very Historical Pueblo Mission National Park. Check out the website, there are 3 different Pueblo sites to tour. Very Old and Amazing! You can feel the History!

Quaint Small Town, in the Mountains! Nice Scenic Drive! "Shaffer Hotel" I heard it was Haunted! Check website for hours of operation. If it is even open at all right now. This area is remote, I know there is a Family Dollar Store, and a Gas Station. If you travel further East on the 60 that area is known as "high plains" There are a lot ole historic towns along the way! Antelope Sightings! Less than an hour away from the Casita!
