Hot chicken! Hattie B's has become a new Nashville staple. This location is close to the house. It is a much larger location than the Hattie B's in Midtown, so the lines aren't as bad.

Being from NY, I can honestly say, this is THE BEST bagel in town. The Nashville Scene agrees. Voted best each year. The coffee is also amazing, as well as healthy juices, sandwiches and salads.

Fido has amazing coffee, herb eggs, no microwave, and the best atmosphere. It is located in Hillsboro Village, and has outside and inside seating.

If you want to go to the Pancake Pantry on a weekend, be sure to get coffee at the Provence across the street. It will be a long wait.

Best non-chain pizza around. They sell pizza by the slice to order. They bake their own bread and offer many affordable meals on their menu such as lasagna, ziti, salads, and delicious steamed or toasted sandwiches. Good for lunch or get a cold beer and have a late night snack there.

This was the very first Bongo. It is located by Belmont University. Great atmosphere! I once had an art show there. My favorite thing to eat at Bongo is their Fancy Grilled Cheese.

This is Nashville's largest Farmers Market. I love finding affordable whole foods; and I learn something new every time I go there. Buying local has so many benefits. Shops inside and outside offer way more than just food. Restaurants are conveniently located in an air-conditioned building. And parking is free.
Although they are open daily until 3 pm, the best time to go is Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The best music on Broadway is usually here at this old, unassuming Dive bar on Lower Broadway near Tootsie's. If you want a preview, look up drummer goes through the window and Robert's Western World on you tube. Oh yea - and you can get a great burger and fries late night - they make it right in front of you behind the bar. I also think they were the absolute first to offer PBR in a can way back before it was cool. Used to be $2. I'm doubt it is still that cheap.
