This is a Nashvillle original! It’s located in the Gulch around a lot of new awesome places, yet in my opinion this is one of The cities best “OG” spots. Bluegrass at its finest!
There's live music to be seen and heard in nearly every nook and cranny of the city, but this place is my favorite--and I think the most authentic. If there's a ticketed show on the night you two want to go, make sure you buy your tickets in advance, if possible.
BLUEGRASS Music - the LAST original place in the Gulch - the one that started it all! A must-see on your visit to Music City! Full of character - an authentic spot!
A tiny, stone-facade, historic bluegrass dive bar surrounded by new high rises in the Gulch. This place is a must see for an Nashville authentic trip.

“Their fries and jalapeno poppers are seriously amazing. Also, very cheap and off the beaten path. ”

“This gem is tucked away a few blocks from the Broadway scene, but is always worth checking out. It's the best country-kitchen downtown, with great service and delicious food. The Bloody Mary is hard to beat, and the fried pork chop is one great way to start the morning.”

“Grins Vegetarian Cafe is located on the Vanderbilt campus but welcomes anyone craving fresh vegetarian (and certified kosher) fare. Opened over a decade ago by Fido’s Bob Bernstein, the cafe serves breakfast items, paninis and wraps, soups, salads and specials like Indian veggie curry. Note that Grins closes for Jewish holidays and follows Vanderbilt’s schedule for holidays and seasonal breaks.”

“Our favorite spot on Broadway! It's a true classic, with live music every day of the week. Come by for a beer at the bar, or try swing dancing with the locals. Everyone is super welcoming.”
