How many people can say that they stayed in a Sea Lion Shanty Yurt? We can! Perfect for our needs, and a unique experience that I would repeat. Loved the communal kitchen, and the relaxing interactions with other travelers. Highly recommended.

Bed in the Bog was perfect for our weekend getaway! Kate was an excellent host, the yurt was spacious and cozy, and exactly as the post described. I would recommend to anyone who wants to experience a quiet stay near Homer and surrounding areas.

I coined a term for this place, ‘Yurtopia.’ This place was absolutely awesome- a legitimate yurt village, super well tended to, cozy, clean, and unique in all the ways.

My husband and I are local Alaskans, and decided to escape for the weekend from Wasilla to Seward. We couldn't have picked a better spot than this charming yurt village. Our yurt was not only cozy, but also spotless, making us feel instantly at home. The outdoor kitchen was well-equipped, providing everything we needed to whip up a meal. We also loved the outdoor seating area, which was perfect for playing games and socializing with fellow guests. It truly was a magical getaway, and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely little find for my pup and toddler. The kitchen space was so great and loved that there was a fire going. Peaceful and an all around beautiful community feeling.

We enjoyed our stay at this really magical yurt camp, it felt like a really unique experience! The camp kitchen was well organized and charming, and the shared bathrooms and showers were super clean. we highly recommend!

This was our second time staying at Daniel’s property and it was wonderful! It feels so secluded but you’re just a 7 min drive to restaurants/grocery store. The property is quiet and beautiful and you can walk down to the river. There’s ample firepits, bbq’s and firewood readily available. Daniel supplied everything we needed (linens, towels, even a lighter and cooking utensils)! The bed was comfortable and yurt was nice and warm. Very happy with our stay and can’t wait to stay again!

Robin was a gracious host. This is a lovely spot close to all that Homer has to offer!

Couldn’t have picked a better place for me and my dogs. Super private very nice host, the cutest amenities and she even had food and drinks which was very handy being out in the almost middle of no where. 10/10

We had a fun time staying in the yurt! Just a quick drive to Seward and even closer to Exit Glacier. Make sure to stop at the fish weir to see the salmon swimming upstream! It was a bit surprising that the walls didn't extend to the ceiling in the yurt, including the bathroom (sound travels), but altogether extremely roomy and comfortable.

This was an experience we will never forget (and will never stop talking about). TLDR: Worth the money. Amazing staff. Clean and comfortable. Insane views. Endless activities. Considering everything included, it is more than worth the nightly rate - especially with all activities being on your own schedule (or lack thereof). The staff were so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Simon pointed out and stopped for wildlife during the boat ride - even tried to get us close to the puffins we spotted! Our island host Haley was AMAZING. We were pleasantly surprised when they took our bags from the dock to the boat and then to our yurts - such a nice touch and start to our stay. The yurt itself was bigger than expected, so cozy, and very clean! The views..insane. The abundance of activities and ability to use the equipment whenever you would like was perfect. There is plenty to do regardless of if you prefer to be adventurous or relax, or both. Cannot wait to come back!

If you are on the fence, just book it now. It was way more money than we would normally spend on an Airbnb, but it was worth every penny. Staying here made my whole family feel like we were in a storybook. The views are unreal. The peace and quiet is not something we truly get to experience anymore living in a town. We kayaked and hiked everything. We picked blueberries and held a jellyfish (non-stingy) and caught salmon with our bare hands. We saw sea otters and even a bear! (Don’t worry. He was way more scared of us than we were of him) We saw so many eagles and waterfalls that I lost count. There were so many adventures packed into only 2 days. Book the kayak tour too! Our guide Cooper was a wealth of information. Our boat captain Emily was great and also full of information. I cannot express how much we loved it there. The whole experience was gift and the memories we made there will last a lifetime. I still can’t believe we got to stay someplace so magical and untouched.

Robins property is beautiful. We would stay again. Her animals are friendly and unbelievably sweet. The Shire vibes were even better than we anticipated!

One of the best Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed in! The host’s attention to detail is impressive, and the home shows pride of ownership through and through. Very peaceful also. Would stay here again!

Staying at the yurt was dreamy. The view was outstanding with sunsets out across the inlet and the twinkling lights of the city at night. I really like that the bathhouse was a few steps away attached to the main house. It was an opportunity to check out the view. The beds were very comfortable and it was very quiet and peaceful. We had a great stay and enjoyed our time in Homer. The views from inside and from the deck are amazing, very relaxing! Saw eagles, moose and a squirrel while there.

very cozy yurt the bed was super comfortable. only downside is the place is right off a busy road so you do hear cars driving by while you're there. however they do provide you with earplugs and sleep masks if needed. I'd say the best place to stay on the property is definitely the yurt since you get to overlook everything.

Very kind and thoughtful hosts!! Love and care is put into the yurt. It was cozy and peaceful and clean with touches of Homer throughout!
