A countryside retreat is exactly what you get. Beautiful house and surrounding, the pictures do not do it justice! Spacious house perfect for a small group to socialise and also have privacy as an individual. All amenities you could hope for are well thought out and included by Russell, we hired a private chef for our stay and they had everything they could possibly need. Great everything - we loved our weekend at The Mallards. Don’t hesitate in booking, but ensure you bring along some shower gels and shampoo etc for your stay!

Absolutely gorgeous house with a homely cosy vibe. We felt right at home and had everything we needed to make it a home from home. The host was friendly and very responsive and gave clear instructions how to gain access to the property. Just a short walk into the town which made eating out so easy and accessible - we felt sad to leave and would definitely book again!

We had a lovely stay at the Pondbarn, the barn and the surroundings are so peaceful. The interior is beautiful and cosy we all really felt at home and are already trying to arrange booking for next year. Thank you!!

Really accommodating with things for my little one (such as travel cot, night light, high chair, bath seat, toy's etc.) Helpful and quick at responding to messages. We had an issue with the hot tub, and Jodie came out straight away to help us reset it and get it working again. The cottage was clean and well equipped with kitchen utensils, bathroom products, board games, dressing gowns and even flip flops! The cottage is on quite a busy road but its free to park outside, we had no issue finding somewhere to park when we got back from our days out. The windows in the front bedroom had been updated to help with noise from the road so helped to have a good night sleep.

I booked this gorgeous house for a reunion of old school friends (and dog!) and it was honestly perfection- ALL the rooms are gorgeous with en suites (so there were no sorry souls who arrived late and got stuck in less the desirable room as so often happens!), we had all we needed to cook in one night and plenty of space to sit inside and outside. The garden is so absolutely stunning and perfect for our dog as it’s secure. We also did several stunning walks nearby (all with a pub on route!) and have a lovely meal out just 10 min drive away. All in all, I couldn’t recommend enough and we will defo be back- already talk of an annual gathering at this spot!

An annual booking now for some staff to assist and a great time and stay is always had. Diana is always more than helpful and the feedback from the staff staying here is positive, fun and there is always a fight between who gets the trip next year! Thank you Diana

A cute little hideaway, tucked besides the main house with all amenities you would need for an overnight or short duration stay (self contained unit, with microwave, induction hob and utensils). Jemma was on hand to guide me to my room (The Pantry). Jemma was responsive with messages.

Good accommodation in a beautiful area, very quiet, perfect for a " getaway." Accommodation was very clean.

Beautiful setting, clean room - just what we needed for a brief stay during a wedding. Great communication and pretty setting, would recommend!

I highly recommend staying here, the hosts were lovely, the place was beautiful and clean and the village is gorgeous and peaceful. Our dog loved their garden and the massive field right behind their house. The Crown in Shillington is also a great pub for dinner. We’ll definitely keep Rebecca’s place in mind to visit in future!

Our stay with Paul was exceptional from start to finish. Paul gave us such a warm welcome and tour of the property. The place was laid out and designed brilliant and Paul has thought of everything from muffin's and prosecco to the hair straighteners You can tell Paul takes a lot of pride in hosting and the stay was absolutely perfect in a beautiful set with beautiful surroundings Very very good value for money..I would expect to pay alot more for what we had We will definitely be back very soon

Caroline is a very friendly and responsive host. The property was exactly as described and the facilities were fab. It's noted that it's remote and it certainly is, about 1.5 miles into the nearest village (Little Downham) but it can be a bit noisy for the lighter sleepers as it's very close to an active railway and crossing. Alfie Acres is clean and well equipped and would highly recommend.

We were in the area for our daughter's wedding and chose Sherwood Farm on the basis of its proximity to the venue. When we arrived the lights had been left on for us as we had said we would be arriving late. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and extremely well equipped - with milk in the fridge and goodies on the side - and it is even nicer than it looks in the pictures. Stuart and Carol were very helpful. It was the perfect place for the bride and bridesmaids to start getting ready on the wedding day morning! Thank you so much for the use of your lovely house.

Me and my partner stayed for one night, we really enjoyed the scenery, and it was lovely and quiet. We booked mainly for the hot tub which we enjoyed but ended up enjoying chatting by the fire pit even more! The place was stunning, super clean and comfy. We loved the fairy lights that really added that extra touch to the place in the evening. Only thing we didn’t have was a lighter to light the fire pit, but the restaurant and bar managed to sort the issue out extremely quickly for us. We would definitely come back again.

Amanda was the perfect host for a wonderful property. We loved the fully fenced and well maintained yard, a secluded hot tub, and the great gated area. The house was equipped with all necessities. We visited the nearby pubs which were all very welcoming with great ales and food. We will definitely come back.

A simple, bright, spacious and immaculately clean studio in a peaceful setting. The village is quaint with many quiet walks and easy access to Cambridge and Saffron Walden. Elmdon also offers an opportunity to see great examples of the regions vernacular architecture, including thatched roofs, decorative pargeting, flintwork and timber framing. It's evident that hosting means more to Fiona than just money. It was a warming experience and we certainly hope to stay here again when we're back in the area.

Loved it. A great place to stay. Caroline provided lots of thoughtful little extras and was quick to respond to any queries. Accommodation is a great size with comfy bed, powerful shower and everything you need. A relaxing few days away. Loved the Geodome, which is a little added extra and we enjoyed watching the sunset with a hot chocolate or glass of wine. Burwell is ideally situated for trips to Cambridge, Ely, Newmarket and National Trust properties. Burwell kebab van and Thai food in the Anchor are both great. We enjoyed Ely cathedral and boat trip on the Liberty Bell. we will definitely be looking to stay again.
