We loved the cottage! It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Kathy went out of her way to make us feel at home, including fresh flowers and treats! We will definitely return.

My wife and I had a gat stay. The apartment was clean and the kitchen was fully stocked as well as bathroom supplies. I would.definitely stay there again.

This is a comfortable, spacious and private cottage. I was able to relax, cook dinner, and sleep well. The decor is beautiful and there was a sweet little seasonal bouquet in a vase on the dining table to welcome me when I arrived. Hosts are responsive, accommodating and friendly. The WiFi was fast and reliable which was important for my work trip!

Cute and comfy little cottage. Had everything we needed. Clean, plenty of amenities and walking distance to downtown GV. The washer/dryer was a great addition you don't see often. The only thing we noticed was the garden area was pretty barren. Don't know if that was from the weather or it was being redone but it didn't look like the photos. Small detail but was a bit disappointing.

Donna was super responsive and helpful and the place was incredibly comfortable, clean, well stocked and beautiful. I would 100% stay here again. It has everything you need and is so peaceful and quiet but close to town!

Exquisite and serene! The hermitage was exactly what I was hoping for... a quite place in nature to unwind. I went in the winter and even though it was storming outside it was so cozy and warm inside. There was space to practice yoga, to sit and read, write and draw, as well as be surrounded by peaceful, healing energy. This is especially great for artists who want to be in an inspiring space to write, paint, or connect with their muse without distractions. The meals that Hiroko made were so nourishing - I loved all the different flavors and fresh ingredients. If you have a chance to have a tea ceremony with MJ or a massage with Hiroko, I highly recommend it! The Jade Valley Zen Nature Hermitage is a true gem for anyone wanting to unplug from technology and into the ancient wisdom of nature.

This large, private studio cottage is a gem! The elegant decor, spacious bathroom, and beautifully kept garden create a peaceful and inviting retreat. We felt completely at ease—comfortable, quiet, and safe—while enjoying every thoughtful detail that had been carefully considered for our stay. From the well-stocked kitchen and bath to the welcoming touches like snacks and coffee, it was clear that Lee went above and beyond to ensure her guests feel pampered. It truly felt like she designed the space with the same care and attention she would for herself, and that warmth translated into an exceptional experience for us. I can’t recommend this property enough for anyone seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway. It’s a perfect slice of serenity!

This was an absolutely incredible stay. To start, the host was kind and responsive, and spent so much time communicating to make everything ran smoothly as well as touching base to make the stay as welcoming as possible. Secondly, there were so many incredible small touches included. Everywhere we looked we’d find a new corner with something else to make the stay more comfortable. They included things like a welcome basket and charcuterie board, an abundance of snacks and toiletries, and a personalized note congratulating us on our nuptials. They clearly went above and beyond to make this an incredible experience. Everything was clean and comfortable, with very nice accommodations and stunning views, and it was very easy to find answers to questions without even having to ask. Overall I highly recommend this place. I have never had a more relaxing and catered stay, and hope to come back in the future.

It was a a very nice, peaceful and clean home. New plush linens. Responsive host! About 10 minutes from dining and grocery store. Washer and dryer was a huge plus! Downtown is quaint as was Nevada City. Recliners were comfortable. It does have a workspace with USB and plugs that doubles as a breakfast bar. It does have a privacy entrance gate which must be manually opened and closed. Easy for a couple. The bed was large but on the soft side if that matters. One of the best we’ve stayed at in terms of space, privacy, and amenities. We’d stay again.

Ashley was great and the place we stayed (just across the driveway from her home) felt brand new, secluded, and was super clean. King bed was incredibly comfortable and we also loved being out in quiet nature, yet only a few minutes to downtown Nevada City and a reasonable distance to various snow options. As an aside, Ashley mentioned that they have six kids (!!) yet we never heard nor saw them whatsoever the entire 4-day wknd we were there. Great for our family of four overall and we definitely hope to make it back again!

Antonio was an excellent host—responsive, accommodating, and incredibly flexible with our early check-in. The place was spotless, exactly as described, and had a wonderful ambience that made our stay so enjoyable, even though it was short. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and hospitality. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Very simple but well furnished place. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Grass Valley and Nevada City have a small town feel with unlimited hiking and outdoor activities.

I came to this place leaving a toxic relationship. And I just recently achieved 30 days sobriety. I tell you just because maybe someone out there is like me and needs some help. Once I walked into the room, I was just checking back by how peaceful it was and the vibration was all about healing. Joy was nothing short of amazing as far as communication. It turns out she’s a holistic therapist as well. Her husband was a cool guy and her son was friendly too. And their dog is rad just a cool dog and my dog Scarlet and he played together for a little bit and it was cool. I really needed this place and I look forward to staying here again when I need to just go somewhere decompress I would recommend a spot to anybody. And if you like books, there’s so many books to read I mean it’s awesome and I’ve been a great job of building out the room to look amazing and feel amazing. Don’t hesitate to grab this up if you need to.

I had the most wonderful stay at this charming mountain Airbnb! From the moment we arrived, the cozy cabin felt like a home away from home. A peaceful spot with breathtaking views, it was the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Sean the host is very chill, friendly, and down-to-earth, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Along side with his friendly dogs. The mountain views were breathtaking, and I couldn’t have asked for a better spot to unwind. I can’t wait to come back!

Well that was just a delight! I loved staying here with my son, and hope to return with the whole family. Incredible location just a couple blocks from “downtown” Nevada City, but so private and serene. Great layout with a spacious living room/kitchen with gorgeous light from the skylights and then a good sized bedroom with king bed. My tween son loved the bunk beds in the large walk in closet, felt cozy and cool. Tracey was a lovely host and was responsive to all my questions.

I stayed for 3 days, 2 nights during a whitewater rafting weekend. You can tell Desiree and Tom took a lot of care and consideration in the unit. The furniture, appliances, blinds, windows, bedding, towels, restroom features appear new and well-kept. The a/c unit is also very quiet and easy to use; there are also two ceiling fans to circulate the air if you're not into using a/c. I never had an issue with keeping the unit cool. The surroundings are breath-taking! I caught some beautiful sunsets over the horizon and saw a family of deer twice foraging the grounds. And like another review mentioned, Desiree makes some delicious baked goods!

Great cottage for a peaceful vacation. It is right in the middle of the natur. Cottage itself was nice and cozy with all the basic amenities, me and my family really enjoyed it. Heidi was communicative throughout the stay. We will definitely visit again in the summer

This cabin is such a peaceful getaway. It sits at the top of a hill, and although the property owners are in a nearby home, it was almost like they weren't there. If you want to get away from people and crowds and the city, this is the spot. The host was very responsive and helpful. All in all, a positive experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to come back.
