We stayed here over spring break with our young kids. Tommy and Janet were very friendly and responsive. The location is great! Literally right across the street from the beach, and close to our all time favorite brewery :) we'd love to come back again in the summer months!

Gloria was an amazing host and her home was outstanding! Beautiful home, even better views, many activities to do, close proximity to stores, private and quite, except for a rooster that was roaming the property (which we thought was cool to see). All my kids did was play outside the entire trip, not one iPad was watched. We will be back for sure!

Charles place is beautiful and the river view is amazing. Charles was very kind and very responsive. Beds were comfy and kitchen stocked. Plenty of room to be fellowship and have privacy when needed. Decor is nice and makes you feel welcomed & right at home. Charles place is great for a relaxing waterfront stay in VA, can’t wait to return for our next river stay.

Great spot for a Bachelor Bash weekend. Plenty of space. The hot tub and fire pit were awesome. Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider to welcome us was a nice touch! Highly recommend for anyone looking to do the Virginia Historic Triangle.

Had a lovely few days here in early December, snug as a bug despite the rather chilly temperatures. It's a lovely view of the lake and just a few steps away, was a bit cold to do any water activity but in warmer weather would just be ideal. The internet was rock solid and lots of the usual kitchen facilities were there, not that we used most of them. Would 100% return when next back in the area. There is a knack to opening/closing the front door, you just need to pull it towards you about 1mm before pressing the lock button when arriving or leaving.

My family had such a wonderful stay at this home! Had everything we needed and we felt very comfortable and welcomed.

Absolutely beautiful overlook to the water from the entire rear of the house. Huge deck with plenty of seating and things to do. The inside is very spacious and had plenty of room for our group. We would visit again in the future without hesitation!

Had a great time away and enjoyed our stay at Queen Bee's. Our grandchildren loved playing at the little beach area and roasting marshmallows around the firepit. We would definitely stay again.

I would definitely stay here again! My absolute favorite part was the deck outside. It had so much seating and a table with an umbrella. The home was lovely. The queen size bed was comfy. The space on the side of the bed with the wall is awkward because the intake vent is there, and that vent is also loud and annoying. Just wear earplugs! We added two of the wooden tray tables from the closet as night stands. The house is clean except the floor, which I'd imagine is hard to sweep or mop because the boards have shifted, making the floor uneven with cracks through out. So the floor felt and looked a bit dirty, but you're by the beach with sand, so eh not a problem.

The place was better than we even imaged! We had such a wonderful vacation. So much space and in an excellent location. Everyone was very helpful and check in was easy. Thank you!

Charming Cape Charles getaway! I was so happy to find this gem and even more thrilled when I arrived. From the beautiful landscape of the gated community, to the southern charm of this glorious suite…I wanted for nothing. This enormous suite has all the comforts of home and the location was spectacular. The property offered not only a private beach on the bay , a community pool, a beautiful well maintained golf course, it was also a short drive to the charming town of Cape Charles. Dawn offered endless advice to her favorite restaurants, activities to do and places to see while we visited. She was just a text or call away if I needed anything. Her hospitality was beyond measure. I look forward to coming back.

Everything went well for my stay-cation. I am familiar with the area and decided to try one of the Airbnbs. The apartment was clean, quiet, and we'll appointed. My only issue was actually with the Airbnb app, it kept lagging for both of us when we messaged each other. All in all, a great atay.

I loved staying at Velma’s place, it was cozy and cute, exactly what we were looking for. I will definitely visit again. Velma was awesome and responsive. My stay was as imagined.

Joyce has done a phenomenal job with this lake house. Everything has been thought through. The house actually looks even better than the pictures. You can tell a lot of thought went into the decor. And it is super clean. The kitchen is fully stacked with everything you would need ant home or away. Ample seasoned fire wood and starter sticks makes using their MASSIVE fire pit a breeze. The best part is she gives you access to both of their docks and you will not have to take your boat or kayak out of the water once. We kayak fished Johnson’s and Lacey’s with ease from her house. 100% coming back to stay again.

We stayed at Richard’s because we were getting married on the beach which is right behind the house however weather halted tht so we opted to get married right in his beautiful backyard. The first day we were there we met his father who introduced himself and let us know tht if there was anything we needed to just reach out. Richard and his Mom actually were very sweet and left us a beautiful card for our wedding, the house is gorgeous and it was very clean. There were a lot a personal touches in the house tht made it truly feel like you were home. I can’t wait to stay there again next year for our 1st year wedding anniversary.

My wife and I had an amazing time staying here! While we wanted to explore Williamsburg and Richmond, we spent half of the days there just enjoying the lake. Those were my favorite days. In all, a really great place to read, play board games, snack on food, and sit by the water.

Incredible stay on a beautiful property. It’s quiet, private, VERY well maintained and just awesome. I truly hope to stay at this location again in the future because it was that great! You can tell the history in the cottage yet it’s updated and cozy. Also I’ve NEVER stayed at a location so clean!!!! From the cottage itself to the grounds, everything was very well taken care of.

Beautiful and unique place in a good location. Enjoyed the nature trail and the grounds too.

This old log cabin school house, this was one of the most amazing experiences our family has ever had in an Airbnb. The history in this home is something like I’ve never witnessed before in my life. You can feel the love that has been poured into this unique stay. It felt like home with endless bonuses found throughout the home, carriage house and property. Richard was an incredible host and this was by far the most personable experience we have ever had in all our years using Airbnb. You can feel the peacefulness this place offers from the moment you turn onto the driveway. The sunsets are breathtaking and we saw deer, turkey and a ton of other wildlife daily. One night right after sunset my husband caught a 24” speckled trout! Our four children, ages 12, 9, 4 and 1, all had a blast. We brought a baby gate for the living room/kitchen doorways and it was perfect! Downtown Mathews is adorable and we loved the visitor center. Definitely check this place out if you have the opportunity ?

Absolutely loved staying at this adorable cottage! It was a really cozy place to relax when we weren’t working on our boat at nearby Zimmerman’s marine. Especially enjoyed the fun decor and the gorgeous blooming camellia outside the bedroom window. My husband loved the big shower! Wish the weather had been better so we might have been able to use the dock and kayaks. Hosts are super responsive and friendly. Would definitely stay here again!

This bright and cheery home is idyllic - set back from the road among flowering bushes and trees with a view of the creek from almost every room. We rented this place while we were exploring the area and househunting. We anchored our sailboat in Cobbs Creek and could dinghy right to the dock at this house! Our friends came to visit and were able to keep their fishing boat at the dock. The privacy and natural beauty is equally as wonderful as the immaculate, fully stocked home with all the amenities one could dream of - set up for ease of use-cooking and relaxing. High end appliances/dishwasher/washer dryer/grill on the deck. It was like bringing my home with me on vacation!! Noelle made us feel right at home from the first contact. We explored the water with her kayaks, visiting and photographing the osprey family on red 2! The great blue herons were the only living thing keeping an eye on us our entire stay!
