So welcoming and helpful from the moment we got there. The annex is absolutely immaculate and a great space. Will definitely be back!

We have just returned from a lovely stay here at the Byre. The accommodation is exactly as described and the hosts were fantastic, providing lovely touches such as welcome baskets for us and the dogs. The location is great for exploring the local seaside towns, and very private. I would certainly recommend and would stay again.

Everything about this venue is lovely. Dog friendly, nice decor inside. 200m walk to a local pub which served great food. The WiFi struggled at times but only a minor issue as there was absolutely no signal on my phone. The only downside to the whole stay is that I was charged £50 to use the hot tub for two nights and I had to heat it myself as it was a natural one. If I was using their electric then fair enough but using extra wood (that I brought just in case) to do it myself, the price felt excessive. Also having spoken to family about some of the places they had stayed the cleaning fee of £50 felt a touch high compared to other properties of similar size. A few minor issues but overall a superb location and would recommend to others.

Lovely little cottage. Living area is great for 4 people and we loved having the open fire! Kitchen was well-equipped too. Gorgeous area with lots of walks straight from the front door, including about 3.5 miles to the Epiacum Roman fort up the hill. Hosts were absolutely lovely and very helpful, great value for money and the added perk of the hot tub. We'd definitely come back! Thanks for a brilliant few days x

We absolutely loved our stay at Hannah’s lovely home! Beautifully furnished and the hot tub kept our children entertained. Richmond itself is lovely and easily walkable. And the Yorkshire Dales are just a stones throw away. We would recommend to anyone and look forward to returning!

Jane met us on arrival, explained everything, then left us to chill out. The welcome pack and fresh flowers were a lovely gesture and were much appreciated. The cottage was spotless and felt extremely homely. We very much enjoyed the games room and enclosed hot tub. The garden areas were vast with lots of outdoor furniture. We enjoyed a lovely ice cream at Archers ice cream parlour (10 min walk) and experienced both pubs in nearby Heighington, very friendly, great food and service in the George & Dragon. Another recommendation is the nearby Raby castle, definitely a worthwhile visit. We definitely recommend staying at Ivy cottage and look forward to returning there again. Thank you Jane.

A beautiful and cosy home which was spotlessly clean and as described. It had a well equipped kitchen and the hot tub was ready to use on our arrival. I only wish we had stayed for longer!

Just got home after a 4 day break and the cottage was perfect! I’m a decorator by trade and work on property development every day and so of course everywhere i stay i can’t help but look through that lens and i have to say well done! The cottage has been very tastefully decorated throughout and designed really well too! i even took photos of the portholes that have been cut into the dividing wall between stairs lounge and kitchen because they really work to give a unified feel to the whole of the ground floor space which for a 2 up2 down it really did feel like one larger space i liked that effect , it really works right builder hat off we loved it and used it as a base to travel about from the town too was perfect with every amenity on the doorstep would highly recommend Thank you hosts Ian & Jon

Absolutely perfect little get away in a lovely area. My girlfriend really liked it and wants to go again. Very cosy and private place with a little garden for the dogs. Beautiful surroundings will 100% be booking again. Very responsive host even though we got there late. Thanks again

Was only staying for 2 nights. But a lovely welcome from Kay and family. Very comfortable. Clean tidy. Parking is hit and miss if you have anything bigger than a car. I had a Vw van 😀. But parking found in the next street, not far away. Lovely location. As it turned out. A member of my family had stayed there previously, and loved it too.

We booked The Nest last minute and Anette was extremely attentive from the start to finish of our stay. The house was exactly as described & was immaculate. Bed was so comfortable & lots of attention to detail! Great location for exploring the local area. Pub right across the road with good pub grub , Co Op literally paces away& a fabulous foodie pub The Eskdale is a 10 min walk away. Thank you Annette we loved our stay as did our dog !

It was a lovely,well situated cottage. Extremely easy to get to the surrounding north York moors and the dales. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and had helpful information on the surrounding area. The cottage was very clean and homely. Pub within walking distance just across the bridge in the village. Would recommend walk from the beautiful Sutton bank national park which was only 10 minutes drive from the cottage followed by a lovely drink at the pub in hamby. Would definitely go back and stay there again.

We've just got back from a 3 night stay at this beautiful cottage. The sat nav took us straight to the cottages and inside was beautiful and clean. The views are just stunning and with how beautiful the weather has been we haven't needed the heating. the beds are comfortable and quilts are very warm. having an electric shower in the main bedroom ensuite meant we didn't need to use the stove but it was nice that it was already lit when we arrived on Saturday. We walked out to the local village and had food at the coach house inn which was extremely delicious and the portions were generous. it was only a 40min drive from Whitby which was a great day out too. overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay again and explore more of the surrounding area as there is loads to offer.

Great cottage to stay at, has everything you could need and located in a very handy place for getting to Whitby and the moors.

Abbey Hill Cottages to high above W. Hartlepool. They are well equipped.Beds are comfortable and so is sitting room furniture. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.Lots of space. I would stay again.

Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings, stunning views. Perfect mix of modern kitchen/bathrooms and traditional furnishings, owner has a great eye! Ideal location for relaxing getaway in the countryside and to use as a base to explore surrounding area, Whitby just 40 mins away. Highly recommend!

This cottage was exactly what we needed to explore the Wear and Tyne valleys. We needed somewhere quiet, clean and peaceful and that's exactly what we found. Many thanks.

Lovely place to stay. Recommend Carpenters Arms for food, 10 mins away and Bengal Kitchen Indian in Thirsk. Only slight criticism was no milk, only 3 tea bags, no shower gel etc, very little loo roll or washing up liquid, we had to buy our own. Masses of coffee though!

Our stay was so uplifting, the accommodation was spotless and the decor could easily have featured in "house beautiful". The gardens, (which we were allowed to use) were immaculate and visited by many song birds and a pheasant. We spent many happy hours just sitting in the garden. If you need a relaxing and uplifting country break this is for you. This venue is truly beautiful and such good value.

This was one of the nicest places we have stayed in very many years. Carol was a delight and the cottage had everything one could want. I was impressed by the number of books available, it was a joy.
