Whare manu is a private, self contained boutique cottage that is solar powered. Set back into native bush with views of the sea and beach, which is only a minutes stroll away. Situated 10 mins from the township of Winton, central Southland. We are a sheep and crop farm, good views over the paddocks from the hut deck. All the basics you need, bed, chair, table, kitchen, bathroom and then your own outside eating area and bath on the deck under the veranda. Located on a working farm on the main tourist route, within an hour of Queenstown and Te Anau. We are right on the doorstep of the Round the Mountain Rail trail and adjacent to the Oreti River which is famous for its fishing. The accommodation has recently been renovated to meet the needs of both cyclists and fishermen alike. There is ample storage and charging for bikes. Close to Lumsden township where you can stop for coffee at one of the cafes and stock up on amenities.
