This is a unique property that has the size and flexibility to fit a fairly large, generational family. Each room, with its own bathroom is so convenient! And the large, common, eating area; with the "Cliff View" is spectacular. This is the second time our family has stayed here, and with some in Ohio, and some in VA, we will probably be back . Plus. We have runners, and the proximity to that epic trail along the Jackson is a real draw!

Peaceful retreat! Stayed for a night on the way home from hiking Shenandoah. It was a wonderful stopover. The Barn is even nicer than the pictures. Our room was well appointed and we took advantage of the kitchen, meditation room and having a long soak in the jacuzzi. There were a number of other guests. Everyone was friendly and respectful. Highly recommend.

Lovely spot, very quiet and private. Close to Abingdon! It was the perfect base for our creeper trail adventure.

Another great stay. We stayed here last year and enjoyed the peaceful location and easy access to Virginia Tech to attend the football game. Dina is great and responsive to all questions and requests. Looking forward to coming back again next year.

Dina's place is an absolute gem. If you are looking to spend some time in the woods, but don't actually want to camp this is an outstanding option. Dina was very welcoming and helpful. We definitely plan on coming back soon.

Captain Ron is the most AMAZING host! I enjoyed hearing his most wonderful stories! This is such a PERFECT & PEACEFUL atmosphere!! I can't wait to return again!!

Had a great one night stay at the guest house. Highlights include the beautiful deck space overlooking the river, and a friendly dog that stopped by to say hello. Be prepared to be out of cell service and wifi May or may not work. Otherwise a very peaceful and well kept space!

Listen - the view of the New River is the thing at the house on the hill. We could have stayed on the deck for hours and hours. The bath downstairs has a gorgeous view, and our king room upstairs has 180 degrees of views. Luckily the weather cooperated and we were able to sleep with the windows open - it was 60 degrees that night - so we could hear the river all night long, like a lullaby. Plus, the rental includes use of a strip of bank right on the New River, which was lovely. The place is perfect for a family getaway. Huge living room / kitchen great room are perfect for a multi-generation escape. Laura was very communicative and wonderful. We will be back with our family to rent the whole place for a weekend.

This facility is away from all the crazy busyness of everyday life but not far from groceries, recreation, restaurants, etc. The views and landscaping on the property are gorgeous and create such a peaceful atmosphere. For those looking to check out from a hectic schedule for a while and recharge their batteries, this is a great place to do it--it is quiet and close to natural beauty, with property features well-suited to meditation, yoga, reflection, and just plain chilling!
