Gorgeous little cottage. Tastefully decorated giving a cosy feel that made you feel right at home. Has clearly been recently decorated. Stunning views from front door. Beautiful location. Very peaceful. Highly recommend!

The Noddle is in a fantastic location, a short distance from the ferry and quite central on the island of Hoy & South Walls. There was only 2 of us and dogs, so it would be excellent for families & friends, but the space was great. Well equipped kitchen for cooking and baking, the lunch was bright, but the light in the conservatory was so good, comfortable day bed for relaxing, reading, drawing and soaking up the view. We took wood with us for the fire, but didn't use it as the house was lovely and warm. The garden was lovely, easy access to the burn and beach. walking distance to 'Emily's' tearoom, where we had an excellent dinner, great for special occasions (booking recommended), also walked to Scapa Flow visitor centre for lunch (quite basic). There's a lovely cafe at top end of Hoy, Beneath'ill, recommended if you are going to Rackwick - amazing beach. Been to Hoy a few times, loved our week at The Noddle. Tony was quick to respond to any queries. We'll be back.

This is a great location literally on the NC500. Quiet at night with stunning sunsets and sunrises. The bungalow has everything you need and it is lovely to sit in the sun lounge and relax after a day exploring. Garden is enclosed and safe for dogs. We were met on arrival by Steven and shown around. There are some stunning beaches locally and plenty to do for the three days we stayed. Highly recommend.

This was a lovely house and a good base for exploring Caithness. The house was well equipped, the beds were very comfortable and the showers were hot. The house was lovely and warm to combat the chilly weather outside! Our hosts were friendly and check in / check out was simple. There was plenty of room for the 10 people in our party. Our children particularly enjoyed the sand dunes at Dunnet Bay and rock pooling at Ham Harbour - even in the rain. There was a nice walk from nearby Lybster Harbour along the cliff tops.

A great place to stay for our mixed group of adults and children. The house was warm on arrival and very welcoming. We spent so much time in the kitchen / Dining room cooking meals and playing board games.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Amazing house with ample space for the 6 of us. Lovely surroundings. Peaceful. George provides logs & charcoal for the bbq & fire pit which was great! There’s also 6 folding camp chairs which you are free to use - they came in handy.! There’s outdoor seating & also a communal garden in addition to your own private garden space. The house was clean & comfy. Games room was a hit - we got in some darts practice which was a laugh & there was plenty time spent on the pool table too! All bedrooms are en-suite with one bedroom downstairs & 3 upstairs. Living room is large with 3 sofas. We definitely had loads of space. There was milk & butter in the fridge in addition to a lovely welcome pack of locally produced goods & breakfast cereals. George came to introduce himself & even gave us a wee tour of the neighbouring farm so we could see & hold the beautiful lambs.. really enjoyed our stay.

The Wallaby’s was a comfortable homely place to stay. It was lovely and cosy for our arrival which was great as the weather has turned and it was cold and rainy. Beds were super comfy and there was plenty of space to relax for our family of 5. Kitchen well equipped and host provides plenty dishwasher and laundry tablets which is helpful. Perfectly located for exploring the beach and caves. Shame the local hotel wasn’t quite open for the season yet. But took a breathtaking drive to Tongue for Sunday lunch which was worth the 50 min drive.

This place is special. We had stayed before so we planned and had a bbq in the hut. I swear you could do it with snow on the ground and it would still be toasty inside. The chalet is so well designed with no space wasted. Blinking love it.

Derek was very proactive providing all necessary information and checking in was smooth. The apartment was spotless and comfortable, just what we were looking for!

Thanks to Grants instructions we found the site very easily which was a lovely clean quiet site which suited us Although you do need transport as the nearest restaurant, shops etc are in Dornoch which is a lovely town and Wednesday is market day with a variety of stalls with local crafts and foods, and a visit to the beach is a must which is very clean and you can walk for miles The static was clean and well presented with lots of extras supplied like tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper, toilet rolls, hand soap, washing up liquid, cleaning materials, far more extras than we expected was a lovely touch also lots of pans, cooking utensils, cutlery, plates, glasses etc the only thing we could think that may have been useful was a draining board, as we didn't use the dishwasher as we were out and about exploring and ate out each evening, so only had a few mugs and breakfast dishes so it didn't warrant using the dish washer We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again

These pods were perfect for our family. It's about 15 minutes to John O' Groats and plenty to do around the area. Gillian sent recommendations for things to do and places to eat around the area which was super helpful. My son befriended the sheep that are in the field next door and spent hours out there feeding and petting them. Gillian also offers a range of extras to purchase including a BBQ package and grill kit which was all very delicious. Overall we had a great time and would recommend these pods to our friends!

Amazingly beautiful place that felt like a home away from home. Everything was wonderfully clean and the surrounding areas to walk in were incredible. You can see that so much thought has gone into everything. Couldn’t ask for anymore. Thankyou!

We loved our brief stay in this cosy cottage. Although small, it is thoughtfully kitted out with everything that could be required. The location is stunning - beautiful views of the clear turquoise waters and the hills behind. We met nothing but kindness and friendliness from the people of Hoy, and especially from Kathleen

Fab little cabin. Great for our overnight stop heading South. Kitchen well equipped with the added bonus of an airfryer.

Absolutely amazing. Beautiful view of the beach and surrounding area. We got lucky and saw the northern lights! The place was super cozy. Loved the extra effort the hosts put in to make sure we had everything we needed, which included a dog bed, doggy treats and board games. The Christmas tree and bottle of Prosecco were a much appreciated bonus. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends.

Myself with a group of friends stayed at Rob an Alison's place for 3 nights. Though it was 2hrs away from the starting point for the hike we came for (Ben Macdui), we chose to stay here due to the amenities it had. We found the place to be exactly as described; fully-functional, with the exception of one of the showers upstairs which ran lukewarm. That however, was not much of a bother and not worth mentioning had it not been for writing this review, given that afterthoughts of the property are overwhelmingly positive; the BBQ grill was easy to use and very efficient, whilst the hot-tub and nearby lake can make for a great Nordic spa experience. Rob and Alison are also fantastic hosts and responded extremely quickly to any queries, prior to and during our stay. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Our stay at the hen hoose was excellent, the location was great and we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing weekend. Yvonne was very helpful, supplying a BBQ on request, letting us know where we could charcoal and checking we had settled in. Check in and check out was super easy and stress free. We’ll be back!

Amazing place with a gorgeous view and hot tub! A must stay place!

The Lodge more than met our needs as a base to explore the northern highlands. The many creature comforts helped to make us feel truly at home. The weather was so kind for the time of year allowing us to make full use of the hottub at the end of long days exploring. Our children couldn't get up early enough to "help" feed the neighbouring Highland Coos. We can't wait to come back next year to see how much they have grown.

Beautiful location only stayed for one night due to our plans we could have stayed longer and if we return will definitely rebook

A beautiful cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The cottage was absolutely spotless and you can tell it is lovingly looked after. A lovely comfy bed so a great nights sleep was had. Would definitely recommend to others if they are ever in the area.
