Food Scene
No visit to Fulham is complete without a visit to Chelsea football ground at Stamford bridge near Fulham broadway tube station. For visitors needing relaxation, head towards Chelsea harbour Spa to pamper yourself luxuriously. Take time whilst you are there to gaze at the beautiful yachts whilst sipping a cocktail in the Chelsea harbour hotel.
Stroll along the Thames pathway and call in at the Blue Elephant in Imperial wharf, a sumptuous Thai restaurant. For those of you who cant live without a gym, try the new Alex gym in Imperial wharf or the Harbour club in Chelsea Harbour. If you want cultural inspiration, take a river bus into the city and the Tate Modern or upstream to Richmond past Hammersmith bridge and along the famous route of the Oxford and Cambridge boat race. Visit William Morris's house, founder of the Arts and Crafts movement. Kelmscott house is now home to the William Morris Society. Or take a number 22 bus down the Kings road into Chelsea and enjoy the many tempting little shops and cafes before heading into the Saatchi gallery in Duke of York square. Music lovers might enjoy a classical concert at the Cadogan Hall in Sloane terrace, or go to a gig or prom at the Royal Albert Hall. For some nightlife action try Boujis nightclub in South Kensington or Schloss Bodo in High st Kensington both are popular with the Royal family. Closer to home there is the 606 jazz club in Lots road. And if you are exhausted from all that shopping and culture, a local gastro-pub, The Sands End is about 3 minutes from my flat.

I love it! such a cute little café and likes dogs so popular with lots of locals including me. Has wonderful salads and yummy pies and bread and healthy food. Outside seating makes it good for summer afternoons.

If you like going round historic houses then this is a local one. Originally built for the Bishops of London it is now open to the public and has a huge garden and café.

It has some of the best aerial views of London from the glass pods. Lovely with a glass of champagne or wine if you can take some with you. Since it first appeared in 2000, it has been copied by many other cities around Europe and beyond.

Well its the hub of British politics! The iconic parliament buildings are mostly Victorian designed by an architect called Pugin. Parts of the building are open to the public but get there early as the queues can be very long. Parliament square opposite is a camp-site for demonstrators and has nice collection of sculptures of politicians including excellent one of Churchill by Ivor Roberts-Jones. More recent additions called Portcullis house are less attractive and looks like a place for torturing politicians.. maybe not such a bad idea.
