This place is one of our FAVORITES! So yummy... Expect to wait in line though... waiting in line for excellent food has become part of our "culture" here in Portland, it's a social event... The food is gourmet southern but healthier than we tend to think of southern food as being. Both breakfast, lunch and dinner is amazing here. About a mile from us.

I suggest looking up their website for a better picture of them. Reservation is needed for their dinning room, I prefer to just go and put my name on the list to sit on their bar side. Delightful background live music and a fun vibe. AMAZING cocktails! About 4 miles from us.

Wonderful big fountain that kids and adults LOVE to play in on hot days. Lots of nice restaurants and lovely shops all around this fountain park. Great ice cream right across the street. Metered parking everywhere.

First Thursday Portland
Every First Thursday we have a wonderful street art fair. All venders are local artists. Great food, beautiful art and lovely handmade goods. The center of the street fair is on 13th & NW Glisan st. ALL of the Pearl has many streets full of Art Galleries. Anyone will have a fabulous time just wondering around down there. Every street is alive with art, street performers, culture and awesome people watching.

I recommend walking across the Hawthorne bridge and walk towards Burnside Bridge. Great views of our beautiful bridges and a great way to see Downtown Portland. March through December 10:am - 5:pm, we have a huge market (Ironically called "Saturday" market since it's on both Saturdays and Sundays). This market has been here since 1976.
