This is a great little spot downtown. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the Cotton Exchange. Check out the German Cafe. They have really good homemade desserts. Pastries that are so flaky and light... Be sure to get some of the whipped cream on top. Gah. So good.
This historic building hosts a random variety of local shops, restaurants and offers its patrons Free Parking on site.

“One of Wilmington’s top restaurants. Thai food served in huge portions and expertly decorated with both indoor and outdoor seating. While they will do call-ahead seating for parties of 8 or more, they do not accept advance reservations, so people start lining up outside at 4:30! They also offer take-out with the same high quality food. Pro tip: Try the wings and enjoy them as soon as they come out to your table.”

“Across the river from Downtown Wilmington is the Battleship USS North Carolina. Walk the decks and imagine what life was like in naval warfare during World War II. A true historic icon located right in Wilmington. Make this a must see!”

“The Arboretum encompasses seven acres of gardens and plantings dedicated to demonstrating the best plant species for southeastern North Carolina landscapes, proper horticultural techniques, aesthetic design, environmental stewardship, and research. Its many features include a Japanese Garden with tea house and winding stream, a magical Children’s Garden with a miniature cottage, a sweeping perennial border surrounding one of the largest water gardens in NC, a Rose Garden that fills the Arboretum with color and scent for months each year, and an Herb Garden that attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.”
