Construit sous Napoléon III pour célébrer l'arrivée du canal de Provence à Marseille. Built under Napoleon the 3rd reign to celebrate the opening of 'Canal de Provence' supplying Marseille with water from the Alps. Nice park with fountains, 2 museums.

C'est un magnifique palais tout au bout de la canebière, grande rue marseillaise qui débute au vieux-port. La surprise c'est sa grande fontaine architecturale.

Most important, from its foot you can see a panorama of all the city, it is really wonderful. You can get there by car, bus, touristic train, taxi , but remember that the last hundred meters have to be walked on foot and to make a wish once up there ! ”
