The mansion that started it all for the Newport Preservation Society! My personal favorite, open year-round.

The Elms is a short block away and has one of the most enlightening tours because you can see how the 'help' lived in contrast to the 'family' and guests. It can be nice to stroll through their gardens on the way to/from the Cliff Walk. The servants quarters tour is really enlightening, they got…

In my opinion, the Elms is not as well attended as some of the other mansions. You can see it right from the Main road - Bellevue Avenue.

“The International Tennis Hall of Fame is set in The Newport Casino, a National Historic Landmark that first opened in 1880 as a social club for Newport’s summer elite. Designed by McKim, Mead & White, a premier architectural firm of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this was one of the firm’s earliest projects. In 1881, the first U.S. National Men’s Singles Championship was contested at the Casino, and Dick Sears garnered the first of seven consecutive titles before retiring undefeated in 1887. The International Tennis Hall of Fame shares the narrative of tennis history from its origins through present day.”
