Best-kept sushi secret in Boulder. Modeled on Tokyo's subway sake bars. One table and a small bar. Intimate and delish.

Japanese Sake bar with excellent food. Don't expect sushi rolls, as this is at a whole different level. Arrive early and sit at the bar to watch the chefs.

I ADORE Amu – it is a very special place.. It serves Japanese cuisine, Izakaya style – small plates of deliciousness. Sit at the counter and ask your server for their recommendations – they are all experts. The Black Cod marinated in sake is delicious. I also love Okonomiyaki – a sizzling dish of savory pancake, pork, squid and vegetables. I look forward to chatting with Jeff, a very knowledgable and entertaining server. He told me that good sake is always served cold. Try their sake flight so you can sample several different sakes. Amu regulars often buy a large bottle of their favorite sake and partake of it whenever they visit. Amu is a one of a kind place.
