At Christmastime, don't miss ice skating at Big Cedar Lodge. There's another rink in town, too, but seriously, Big Cedar is the place to be! You can do a drive-thru light show at no additional cost, the place is lit up like a Christmas wonderland, and they have propane heaters and hot cocoa to warm up with.

MUST SEE!! This post is not really about the resort, I'm sure its great. But, I'm recommending one of the roads leading to the resort. It has an absolutely amazing view of the lake. This is my first suggestion to anyone who has never been to this area. (Again take 13 to 86, no need to go through Branson for this attraction). You'll actually get directions to "Top of the Rock." When you get to the entrance, there will be two entrances. You want the one on the left that says "Big Cedar," no admittance fee. Now, be careful, this is a very windy road. You'll know the view when you get there. We like to arrive just around sunset. There is usually a small group of people already there, some enjoying an evening picnic. Rumor has it that Johnny Morris may soon be changing this area. So, enjoy it while you have the opportunity. I will warn you, I will generally get lost in Big Cedar while leaving, but I do always, eventually, find my way out.
