In the ‘Royal Dick’ bar at the back of Summerhall is a tap which spouts pure gin, direct from the small batch micro distillery next door. Summerhall, now a thriving arts venue which hosts exhibitions and performances all year long, used to be the Royal School of Veterinary Studies, known as 'The Dick Vet’. Pickering’s Gin is housed in the old dog kennels, and they use the old animal cages to store their bottles. They offer a fantastic gin tour with exceedingly generous samples of gins they have to offer. Well worth the £10. Make sure to eat first!

Tucked away in the old University Vet School, this distillery runs tours and has a nice pub attached

Tour the only proper gin distillery in Edinburgh. We can book it in advance for you. Great guides and free samples. Eat and drink more gin in the Royal Dick afterwards or do a Barneys Brewery tour
