Underground Hobbit Home in the deep forest

Our custom-built Hobbit Home is nestled under the forest floor on a 10 acre site. A bench swing adorns the hillside along the huge boulder fire pit and outdoor picnic area. The inside of the 185 sq.ft. structure is one-of-a-kind, with a Poplar tree bark ceiling, wavy cedar walls, and a wood cookie wall. A queen sized bed with linens and pillows comfortably sleeps two, and a comfy pull out couch can sleep two children under 12 or one teen or adult. A wood stove makes it cozy in the cold months.

Woodlands Retreat Straw Bale Cottage is a warm, cosy, comfortable 2 bedroom, self contained one level space. As a new addition to the main house, the lock off door provides complete privacy. Nestled on beautiful acreage 10 mins from Mt. St. Louis Ski, surrounded by trees, birds, woods, wildlife and complete serenity, you will have a chance to find yourself again, unplug, reconnect with nature and recharge your batteries. Please note, our cottage is Not suitable for Children under 12.

Set back from a rural road, you'll find a peaceful and private experience less than 10-miles from the beautiful state parks, hiking, wineries, breweries, and many good restaurants of the Finger Lakes.

Straw Clay Cabin on a Sustainable Farm

This Earthen house is made of sand, straw and clay. Nestled in a valley it is a peaceful and unique getaway. The cabin has four comfortable single beds and electricity, a wood stove for winter. Outside a fire pit and grill. A hand washing sink inside; and port-o-let toilet outside. You may be able to drive in (weather/road condition depending). It is a short walk to our Bakery (Sat. 9 am until 2 pm) Please arrive before dark. We are LGBTQ owned and operated. BIPOC welcome.

G-ma and Pa's Hobbit Home

Come spend a night underground! This unique home is a rural, restful spot with friendly hosts. We are located 8 minutes from Menomonie and 20 minutes from Eau Claire on US highway 12 & 29 parallel to Interstate 94, providing easy access to the freeway. We have one private room available with one private bathroom. The bedroom includes a queen bed and a full size mattress in the loft (ladder access). The remaining spaces are shared with the host.

There’s even an option ($) to have a breakfast basket brought out.

Honeydome Hideout

This is a unique dome shaped home sitting on a 5 acre private setting. The inside is very spacious and includes 2 bedrooms and a loft, 2 baths, kitchen and laundry room. It has a large deck and a firepit. The cabin is located across from the state trail head and East Twin and West Twin Lake is only a mile away!

Soul Horse and Nature Retreat

The one-bedroom studio is a newly renovated abode in a century-old barn. It was created with the intention that guests will have the experience of peace and calm. All natural materials, right down to the organic latex bed and soft cotton sheets. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer, light-filled year-round.

The Pond House at Tryon Farm

The Pond House has 2 1/2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a huge living room-dining room, a sleek modern kitchen and walls of windows overlooking the the pond and prairies. There are lovely views from the patio and 170 acres to hike, explore and enjoy at Tryon Farm.
