The Hacienda del Sol is a Historic Bed and Breakfast built in 1804. The Hacienda was Mabel Dodge Lujan and Tony Lujan's first home together in Taos. Guests that have stayed at our Inn included Georgia O'Keefe, Ansel Adams, Willa Cather, DH Lawrence, etc. We have two big beautiful lawns in the back of our Inn with clear sunset views of Taos Mountain. We serve a delicious, gourmet free breakfast. The Love Apple, (A+ restaurant), shares our driveway and is walking distance for dinner.

Carey's Studio

Located 2 blocks from Taos Plaza with a daily gourmet breakfast. This spacious king suite has views of Taos Mountain, Sangre de Cristos, and the historic La Loma Plaza. Carey’s Studio features handcrafted furniture and spacious sitting areas, including a sleeper sofa, wood fireplace, and window seats. There is a table area and mini kitchenette, and features a marble tiled bathroom with double sinks, walk-in shower with body sprays and rain-forest shower. Pets are not allowed in this room.

Anasazi Penthouse Suite

Two blocks from Taos Plaza with a daily gourmet breakfast. A private, curved stairway leads to Anasazi Penthouse, a spacious two-room suite with panoramic mountain views. The king bedroom features a kiva fireplace, loveseat, and private deck. The deluxe bathroom has a two-person jetted tub and a large walk-in shower with body sprays and rain-forest shower head. The living room has a second kiva fireplace, large flat screen TV, wet bar, dining table, and sleeper sofa. Pets are not allowed.

Spanish Colonial

Just 2 blocks from Taos Plaza with a daily gourmet breakfast. Spanish Colonial is a spacious first-floor room with mountain views, a private deck, and is filled with hand carved details and large vigas in the nine-foot ceiling. A leather sofa in front of the wood-burning kiva fireplace converts into a queen sleeper. The bathroom features double sinks, a large walk-in shower with rain-forest shower heads, and a two-person jetted whirlpool bath. Pets are not allowed in this room.

Wildrose Room

Located 2 blocks from Taos Plaza with a daily gourmet breakfast. Wildrose is a cozy second floor micro-queen room with thick adobe walls, kiva fireplace, high ceiling, and view of the historic La Loma Plaza. This small room features a custom mural and is painted in subtle pinks, accented with willow stick shutters and matching headboard. The vanity adjoins the bedroom with two steps leading up to the Mexican tiled bath with tub/shower. Pets are not allowed in this room.

Georgia's Garden

Located 2 blocks from Taos Plaza with a daily gourmet breakfast. Georgia's Garden, a first-floor king room with an outdoor entrance, features clean, cool minimalist decor, art deco antiques and a selection of her art. Enjoy the courtyard and mountain views out the French doors, which open onto our park-like grounds. This room includes air conditioning, flat screen TV with VCR/DVD and free WiFi. A dog-friendly room with additional fee (sorry, no cats).

Sunburst Room

Located 2 blocks from Taos Plaza with a daily gourmet breakfast. This first floor room, enclosed by the original two feet thick adobe walls of this historic Taos residential plaza, combines the traditional elements of sun and earth and provides quiet and accessible dog-friendly accommodations with handcrafted furniture and cozy ambiance. Dogs are allowed with an additional fee.
