Great for an overnight stay, very central and quiet at night even though you are close to all the pubs/restaurants

We gave 5 stars to Steph based on her hospitality , friendliness and all the information she gave us regarding the local area & points of interest on the continuence of our trip … the room & bath were cozy & clean…. The breakfast setting was lovely & the offering excellent…. We late arriving but we still used her kitchen and she made us tea …we would stay again and recommend her highly … h & a

Thanks for a great stay. The apartment was spotless, and looked like everything was brand new. The apartment was warm and cosy, and everything was walkable. We couldn’t get the hot water to work in the en suite shower, but used the other shower instead. Minor point - wall mounted mirrors in the bathrooms would’ve been great. Apart from that, everything was perfect!

Very good, met all my needs fully. A short drive into the town centre and a communicative and helpful host.

Great value for money. The apartment is in a beautiful setting, we had the weather and enjoyed breakfast outside, which we cooked with the facilities in the apartment (microwave, air fryer, toaster). Stayed with my mum and my two greyhounds, the apartment is spacious and the beds are comfy. Thankyou and would certainly stay again.

Arin was a great host, really helpful and friendly and her home was lovely. Wish my home looked that pristine! Really close to the centre and to nice walks. I was staying while working at the Theatre and the walk home felt really safe and the house felt safe and quiet too. Thank you Arin!

Perfect place for what we needed. Felt so cosy and Jeanette was a great host and was always on hand if we needed anything answered. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

A lovely stay in this amazing little bolthole in beautiful, characterful Yorkshire. The value for money is, quite frankly, ridiculously good. Anthony is very friendly, helpful and welcoming and we got the impression that both he and Jane really do care about their guests. Small extras like a crockpot, an air fryer and coffee machine are all so useful and make the place feel like a home -from-home. Having a washer & dryer makes everything so easy too - and surprised us for the low price! Everything is very clean too! Parking was easy with the permit and we felt like everything was straightforward and hassle-free. Area is handy for tourists too - Whitby is 30 mins drive away, Robin Hood’s Bay at around 40 mins abc Scarborough at 60 mins. Thank you so much, Anthony and Jane, we’ll be back!

First class . Superbly presented apartment, clean and tidy with stunning views overlooking the marina. Thanks for making our stay a special one , we couldn't fault it. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone, 100% . We will hopefully be returning soon .

We stayed here for the first time last year whilst visiting family and have been back multiple times since. We will continue to stay here as it is clean and spacious and David is an extremely responsive host.

We had such a lovely stay, the place was beautiful and as described. The little extras Rosie organised were really appreciated and the location is brilliant, we especially loved the farmers market right outside on Saturday morning. Would highly recommend

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, only a 10 minute walk to everything we wanted to do and very reasonably priced for Easter weekend. Can’t wait to come back, with the dogs next time as there was a perfect sized garden. It is looked after, we had everything we needed, and was exactly what we were expecting from the photos and description. Thank you to the hosts for being attentive.

Wow! The apartment is absolutely stunning. Although the photos are accurate and it looks lovely we were still surprised at just how beautiful it is. I took my parents with myself and my 11 year old and we had more than enough space. It is also well equipped with tasteful decor. Aileen went out of her way to communicate with me before, during and even after we left as I left a few belongings. We had the opportunity to meet her and Ben who were both lovely. Ann, the next door neighbour was also extremely helpful and really lovely to chat to. We will definitely return. We love the local area. Lots to see and do and such gorgeous scenery. Thankyou so much 😊

Great stay for families, felt cosy and relaxed with lovely welcome cake and milk for a cuppa after a long journey. Fab for exploring coast and has good local amenities (right next to a bakery and above a lovely gift and coffee shop). Very clean and tidy & we appreciated the well stocked book shelf and board game selection. We would stay again when in the area!

This is a great place to stay, right on the marina walking distance from many good restaurants and a great place to just take a stroll. Graham was always there to answer questions before we arrived. Everything in the Condo is well marked, he has all of the user manuals for all of the appliances and such. Notes conveniently placed so that you understand what is going on and how things work. We stayed for a whole month and was well worth the money for the stay. Would definitely stay in this condo again.

I stayed in Gary's lovely flat for a week. I wanted to spend several days visiting the Auckland project, and use the buses to visit places of interest such a Durham and Stanhope and Barnards Castle. The location, in the main street, opposite the bus stop, suited me perfectly. It was a 10 minutes walk down to the Market Square and Auckland Palace, the Tower, the Park and museums and galleries, and 5 mins walk up the street to Morrisons. Gary and Fiona very kindly met me off the train and helped me with my luggage introduced me in person to the flat

This was a very comfortable stay of 11 days for us. The apartment is spacious. clean, and feels very comfortable right from the outset. It has a well-stocked kitchen and all the amenities and appliances you will need for either a short or long stay. We did a lot of cooking ourselves, but there is also a very nice pub a short walk away. Also the bus takes you straight into the center of Durham from the pub. The area around is pleasant but there isn't much to do except walk and enjoy the countryside, which is very pleasant. The bed was comfy, and the pillows were new (although too soft for us, but thats just personal preference). Overall it was a great stay and well worth the price. The owner was helpful and communicated well, the wifi was good, and the couches comfortable. We would both return and recommend the apartment.

Lovely little apartment a couple of minutes walk from the train station and the centre of Durham. Everything you need for a few days away, in a neat little flat on a pretty street. Easy to find and access.

A fabulous few nights at Chris's place, set right on the river in Durham. Beautiful apartment - all we could have wanted & more. Furnished & finished to really high standards - and the welcome treats were the icing on the cake. Everything in the city absolutely walkable. A genuinely lovely place to stay.

Great location, good base for exploring area, trains, buses etc. Flat had all I needed, wanted for nothing, comfortable, warm. Overall peaceful but near lots of pubs, bar, market etc

Such a beautiful and spacious apartment in very impressive grounds. Sympathetically and stylishly renovated, great location, well stocked with all the equipment you might need for your stay, all of excellent quality, and the welcome hamper was a lovely, generous touch. Richard is a great host, so helpful and responsive, but also provided lots of great information to allow you to be 'self-sufficient'. We'd already booked a meal at Middleton Lodge (around a 15 minute drive away) before we'd arrived, and it was excellent, but we noticed some great recommendations for other places in the welcome book, so we will look forward to trying those when we hope to return for another stay later this year.
