what a great quirky place, when you enter into the kitchen/breakfast area it looks compact but upstairs feels a lot bigger. would definitely return if coming back to Southend.

This was my first booking with Airbnb so I didnt really know what to expect but Mel has certainly set the standard. She is a friendly, helpful, honest, and incredibly responsive host. The house was exactly as described and the quiet location was perfect for us. We'll definitely stay again when we return to Mersea Island, which was beautiful too!

We have just returned home from a week’s stay at Karen‘s house. It was a home from home with lots of space for our family of five and very clean. Karen was super helpful and responsive, she even went as far as leaving presents out for our children that they loved and food items for our stay. The house is centrally located for shopping, the seafront, park and many other local attractions. If you are thinking of staying here, we highly recommend and would book again. Thank you Karen!

We primarily chose Slip Cottage for its location and private parking, as we know parking in Whitstable can be difficult. The cottage was just minutes from the sea front and surrounded by nice Independent shops and galleries. There were so many places to eat that we only used the very well equipped kitchen to make cups of coffee! The location is down a private lane, not a through road so very quiet. The neighbours were very friendly. Although only a double, the main bed had a really good mattress and was very comfortable. All the furnishings were good quality, with twin beds in the second bedroom. With two full bathrooms there was a choice of shower or bath, plus a downstairs loo as well! Stephen was a great host offering lots of advice about favourite places to eat. He also kindly texted once the cottage was ready so that we could go in earlier than the published arrival time. All in all a great find which we would happily return to.

What an amazing stay from start to finish. We was wowed as soon as we walked in to how lovely the house was. So spacious and a lovely garden area which is a perfect sun trap when the sun is out. The open plan kitchen/living area made it a great space for us to socialise with our friends and the bedrooms were very well done. A great location- we walked to whitstable and was a pleasant walk and some lovely little places in tankerton high street too which is literally round the corner. We even had an early morning swim and just as the beach was right on the doorstep. We would love to book again and would highly recommend. Debra was also very helpful and checked in over text asking if everything was ok including room temperatures etc. A great host

Pristinely clean bungalow right next to the seafront. Fully accessible for those who need it, with wider walkways and doorways for wheelchair users. Little garden out the back for the dog, and space for two cars on the front drive. A stone’s throw from the promenade and beach, this place is a must for well behaved dog owners. Fiona was a great host, friendly and responsive, and the bungalow has been set up so it’s super easy to get in and use the facilities.

Bright, clean and comfortable and only a short walk to the beach. One of the bedrooms has a great book collection. Something to note, the kitchen is a little sparse, with no hob or oven, only a microwave and air fryer. Carly very friendly and easy to deal with.

As we walked in my son said ‘wow’ and that was all of our reaction! We have stayed in a caravan on this site before but this was a lodge and it was so much bigger! Great living space, 2 good sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a veranda! 40min lovely walk along the beach/promenade into Whistable and great foodie pub just across the road (the Oyster Pearl). We had a great couple of nights here, we wished we had booked longer!

A lovely getaway for my family. The Caravan was beautifully presented and the holiday park had lots for the kids to do. The heated outdoor pool was a bonus. Thank you Jill for a wonderful holiday

Lovely short stay, very close to the beach where we spent a lot of time with the children. Nice park at the site and lots of space to play outside. Caravan was clean and well looked after and the deck area was a nice touch to give added outdoor space and seating. Lots of the owners decor in the van which made it a little stressful with a toddler who wanted to explore everything but no problem for the older children.

What made our stay so great was the communication we had with Daisy. There were a few snags, parking, getting in the complex late at night without a key code, heating and water didn’t work the first day and the light in the kids room didn’t work. That said, she was incredibly helpful and polite. All sorted quick as a flash. Very clean, free WiFi, all you needed for a nice weekend break. Would 100% go again and recommend to any family. We’re a family of 5 and it was …..⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!!! Thankyou Daisy! 💙

Jason’s place was wonderful for our little family and super close to old town and new town. Sara’s was great for brunch Sunday morning and the Library playground and library were great for my little one on Saturday.

Me and my family had a great stay. The cottage was just perfect and had stunning view of the sea. The low action is great just a stones throw away from the beach. Plenty of space in the cottage and great shed to store bikes. Gabrielle was a very responsive host and was very helpful. We will be back to stay in the near future and would highly recommend

Our third visit, certainly wont be our last. Always super fresh and clean, everything you could possibly need. Have never slept well even in very high end hotels due to hard beds or just poor quality but Carol uses high quality beds and bed linen so we always sleep well at 3c. Also super soft and always new looking towels. Hopefully we get time to return soon.

This was an excellent location for us to spend a long weekend with our children and grandchildren to celebrate Mother’s Day. Our party consisted of 6 adults, one infant and 2 babies. The layout of the property was ideal for our requirements. The large kitchen/diner and living room were great spaces for our communal needs, while the two large( one equipped with TV) and one small bedroom were perfect when privacy and downtime was required. The large bath in one of the bathrooms was a great bonus for bathing the babies. The property was uncluttered and all the furniture and appliances were modern and high end, providing a very comfortable and relaxing environment. Lyn/Jamie gave prompt and detailed information on suitable places to celebrate Mother’s Day prior to us before finalizing our booking. We tried a few of these during our stay and endorse the recommendations made. Will definitely consider again for future celebrations/long weekends and recommend to friends.

very peaceful and scenic location. Dog absolutely loved the run of the surroundings, perhaps worth mentioning to other dog owners about the water 'pools', the dog dived in constantly (he is a big able dog) and so spent much time shut outside until he dried off, although only bathing him would get rid of the stink! Was a lovely open quirky place, the kids LOVED it and by night 2 had be home accustomed to no WiFi 🤣 instead they were playing outside which was perfect.

Great location, very well equipped kitchen, lots of seating, great layout, good outside space and very comfortable beds with good quality linen . We would definitely return.

Stunning High end finished property in a lovely part of Leigh-on-Sea. The host was terrific with helping us have a truly good stay. The house is literally the best Airbnb we have stayed in this area. The garden is a terrific space and lovely views over the estuary and with sunrise to sunset it has a wonderful position. The place was immaculate and far exceeded our expectations. With all the walkable restaurants, shops and bars it's difficult to check out and not want to move in full time. Really worth booking if you can get in at any time. Thank you!
