This was my second time staying at a property under Grahame and it was just as amazing as the first experience - the cabin was extremely easy to find with signage posted, the view of the lake was stunning and the view of the stars at night was very clear. It was an incredible weekend away and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway spot

Amazing place to go with your significant other, cabin was so nostalgic and cozy. Beautiful view of the lake and even more beautiful on it, even though we didn’t catch any fish, we went in dog days, we still had an amazing time exploring. Grahame was an awesome host and responds very quickly with any info you might need. Thank you for a great getaway!! We hope to be back!

The Citadel is a beautiful place and the cabin was really cozy. Grahame was super friendly, responsive, and accommodating. We really enjoyed canoeing on the lake and having bonfires in the evening. The sauna is a really nice amenity. The website for booking watercraft, the sauna, and firewood was really easy to use and a nice touch.

We loved this place from the moment we drove into the driveway! Very peaceful serene location and I’m sure it would be even nicer in summer (there was still lots of snow and ice so outdoor activities were limited). The house is so big with so many different sleeping options and several different lounging areas so for our group of 11 ladies, we never felt crowded and had options to all hang out together or in smaller groups. The kitchen had everything we needed, the fridge was big and the stove and oven were also adequate to do all our cooking and baking for all meals. There were plenty of towels and the beds and bedding were very nice as well. This place was perfect for our group and I hope we can rent it again. I would highly recommend it to my friends.

The Citadel is on one of the most peaceful and beautiful lakes we’ve ever seen in lake of the woods. Loved the multiple docks that provide some extra privacy and the sauna and hot tub are fun perks. Grahame is a great host who’s always on hand to help out.

The lodge was a perfect place for myself and friends to stay, it was very easy to check in and out, everything inside was clean and there’s alot of space. There’s kayaks and canoes to rent and they’re set up for you in the morning right on the docks that you can also swim right off of. Very reasonably priced and I’m sure I’ll be back!

We had an amazing week. Great cabin with a beautiful view. We had a lovely stay. The only downside is that you can’t really swim off of the dock. It’s a bit weedy. But the cabin was exactly like they said. It has all of the amenities that you will need. It was quiet and very clean. A great rental.

We had an incredible time at this cabin. The surroundings were stunning, offering complete peace and tranquility. Dianne was fantastic, so accommodating, quick to respond, and genuinely kind. We only wish we could have stayed longer, and we will absolutely return for another stay!

What a great find for our annual fishing trip. The cabin was roomy with plenty of space for gear and people. The view is amazing. This cabin had all the amenities needed, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and warmth! Considering the temp was -25°F every night, that’s important. 🤜🏼 The local assistant Garth was also a treat. What a nice guy, helpful, and had great tips. We had a fun 5 night stay.

Ashley was an amazing host! We needed to make a last minute reservation and she was able to get us a cabin right away along with an early check in! The cabin was beautiful and right on the lake. We loved having access to mutiple boat landings and being able to have fires at night. Very cozy and quiet area. We plan on going back this winter and making it our new summer vacation spot!

Marni’s cottage was perfect! It was in pristine condition. The outdoor space was amazing!! Marni had lots of outdoor and indoor toys for my grandkids. They loved it! The kitchen had everything we needed. Communication was outstanding and Marni was always available for questions. We absolutely loved this cottage rental ❤️

Cozy cabin by the lake! I had an amazing overnight stay here. I was looking for a peaceful and relaxing evening, and this place was perfect. Brandy is warm and responsive and set up the cabin with everything I needed. They have 6 acres of land which was perfect for my dog who enjoyed some fetch and off-leash play time in the morning. Only thing I wished for was more sunshine! Highly recommend this place.

The place is so Beautiful and peaceful woodland island ! The lake access, beach, number of rooms, cleanliness of the home, Laureen made us feel like at home. She friendly and quick to reply to any questions we had. I can honestly to say I will definitely recommend any one going to kenora,Ontario(coney island) to check out this location. Overall, way exceeded my expectations.

Our small group truly enjoyed our stay at Blackbird island on LOTW. Alan was responsive leading up to the stay and welcoming while there. Everything we needed and wanted was available. While we typically choose a different adventure location each year, all agreed that we would consider a return to Blackbird Island

It was exactly as described: beautiful, peaceful & quiet/private, and easy to find. It was easy to unload everything (no stairs) and circle drive. It was very comfortable and spacious. We loved that there was a DVD player and movies, games and our kids loved the candy bowl that was full on arrival! Fresh baked goodies greeted us when we arrived as well as homemade muffins during our stay. Fishing was great, the kids loved swimming and using the kayak. I would highly recommend staying here. Susan and Lee were the perfect hosts and so helpful and friendly.

This place was a beautiful private island experience. House was nice and fit well with the lake life feeling. Amazing covered and powered boat house that was much appreciated to charge boat and keep it covered and dry during some of the unfortunate rain that came through during the week. Host is very quick to respond and lives on far side of island. They are close enough to respond quickly if needed but far enough away that you can enjoy the privacy of the island life. Would definitely like to return given the opportunity.

we had a great stay at Darryl and Lorilee's place. we stayed for 3 nights with our family, including my 65 year old mother in law and her 83 year old mother. Darryl was great at letting us know about any accessibility issues (stairs down to the lake and up to the cabin). He responded to all inquiries very quickly, and even allowed us to check out a little late so we could enjoy one last breakfast on the property. the property itself is lovely, with 2 great decks with fantastic views. The cabin came with everything we needed - included plates, cutlery and cookware. everything was clean and comfortable. we have no complaints and would (and have already discussed) staying again!

We took a family trip with 11 people. Larry and his co host were super helpful and always friendly. Great location and place to stay!

Bob and Marilyn were the most wonderful hosts! We were so touched by their hospitality and genuine friendliness whenever we met or communicated via text message. The cabin was just as described, so very clean and cozy - we felt right at home. We were so impressed how well equipped the cabin was - especially the kitchen. Everything we needed was there. We just have to say that our expectations were exceeded! We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back.

The cottage was very comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. There was a beautiful lake view from every room! It was so convenient to have the additional sleeping cabin available, and so close to town!

We had an absolutely amazing stay. The outdoor shower was a major highlight. We spent many hours out in the canoe and the rowboat, and we didn’t see a single soul the entire time. Robert was lovely and responsive. The cabin was well stocked and clean, and the views were amazing. We brought fishing gear and caught many bass. We saw many turtles, a beaver and lots of different birds. The hike in was moderately difficult and much of it was up hill. We brought our own wagon and used the pull cart Robert supplied. Wear good shoes! It was so worth it though. We’d highly recommend this beautiful piece of paradise!
