This is a lovely traditional home in a small, quiet town, attractive to stroll around and admire. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well-stocked for a night or two with friends and/or family. It suited our group of five adults and two 12-year-olds extremely well. The fact that it has so many bedrooms is a significant advantage for groups that don't all want to share the same sleeping space, as is often the case at Japanese Airbnbs. The friendly hosts were waiting for us at check-in and gave us an extremely detailed tour and explanation of the property. There are not many services within walking distance, so we were glad we rented a car. We cooked dinner and breakfast, and found many useful condiments and spices in the kitchen. Really, the only disadvantage of this home is that it is rather expensive, but the experience of staying there is unique, making it worth the cost. Airbnb prices in general seem to be rising, so it is not dissimilar to others like it.

We verbleven 4 nachten in het huisje met onze twee jongens (10 en 13 jaar). Het huisje is klein maar voorzien van alle gemakken (goede douche, twee toiletten, airco’s). Het is een leuke manier om kennis te maken met het oude Japanse leven. De locatie is heel fijn. Op korte loopafstand van zowel nieuwe als oude centrum van Kyoto en genoeg keuze aan restaurants. Daarnaast metro, bussen en n supermarkt op paar minuten afstand. Communicatie met Ta verliep ook heel goed (snel, duidelijke instructies en proactief). We raden deze accommodatie zeker aan.

Modern and fresh apartment. All the amenities that you need. Loved the recliner chairs to relax. Great kitchen with everything you need to cook for yourself. Large and easy to use bathroom with washing machine. Great outside area including hot tub. You’re right next to a bamboo forest. So very peaceful. Walkable to Fushimi Inari Shrine and 1000 red Torii if you are able bodied. Naoko responded to every request quickly and happily. Loved the treats for breakfast. Thanks Naoko.

Our stay at Yamashita’s beautiful 100-year-old Japanese villa in Kyoto was the perfect way to end our 2 week vacation in Japan. The house is spacious, very clean, and well-equipped, perfect for our group of 12. It has everything you need and more. It has a serene garden, jacuzzi, and sauna—the kids especially loved the jacuzzi! Yamashita is an EXCEPTIONAL host—very warm, helpful, and accommodating. She drove us to supermarkets and places we wanted to go and even picked us up for a small fee. She prepared simple yet delicious breakfasts. She was quick to respond to messages and even guided us on using local buses. Though the house is a bit far from the touristy areas, the peace and quiet of Yamashita’s home made it the perfect retreat. It offered a more authentic and relaxing experience of Japan. I highly recommend Yamashita’s villa to anyone looking for comfort, culture, and outstanding hospitality. And to anyone looking for a truly memorable stay in a traditional Japanese home.

This is a really cute and quiet area. Much needed for all the hectic travel days. Saki helped accommodate us and was very responsive when trying to figure out addresses when forwarding the luggage from our previous location. This is a must checkout spot!

Staying at Chikashi’s Airbnb was great. The house is very comfy and it is located in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Besides, you have the train station very close. Chikashi is very kind and helpful. Thank you sou much!

Ken was on of the most accommodating, friendly and helpful hosts we have met. In addition to the basics amenities, we enjoyed having a deck off the back of our unit with a table and chairs. We loved having breakfast outside while watching the birds over the river. We had easy access to the walking and biking paths on both sides of the river as well as many restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the location. Even though we were traveling during Golden Week, it was quiet at night and not crowded in the vicinity. Ken helped make our first trip to Kyoto (and Japan) a joy!

A beautiful, cozy apartment in the heart of Gion district Kyoto. Location is excellent. We enjoyed seeing geishas and meikos regularly on evening walks just outside the apartment. It was close to hiking trails, many sightseeing destinations, trains, restaurants, etc. In the heart of everything. And yet super quiet, being on 4th floor with no neighbors (above or on sides) in an alley. Only downside is that the kitchen is very efficient, single burner, no counter space, etc. But you should be mostly eating out anyway. Also there is a red light at night in the main room from the fire alarm—we had to cover it with a jacket to sleep. Not sure what other reviewers thought was deceptive—it was as I expected, and honestly the view is phenomenal. Yes there is a parking lot but you can hardly see it and beyond that are the beautiful Kyoto hills and tops of temples peaking out. Tatami room was wonderfully cozy. Furniture and linens were quality. Stayed super warm inside. We miss it already!!

Everything was fine. They were clear and responsive when you needed it. The place was nice and peaceful—a good location between the two main stations.

firstly. ken is the most helpful and wonderful person in japan. he went above and beyond to help with all queries even when it wasn't connected to his accomodation. super nice person. very responsive. always will to help kens accomodation is beautifully located right by the river and close to really awesome bars and restaurants and great areas to walk around in the accomodation itself is small. but perfect for two people. because ken has done up the apartment very very thoughtfully. it's awesome every small thing in the apartment was taken care of. the highlight of this apartment is the beautiful terrace it has. the terrace is far better than that pics . really big with beautiful views. ken thank you so so much for being so helpful from the very start.

Depending on your style of travel, Kyoto can be an overwhelming place. Seibido Inn felt like a safe house away from the touristy madness, yet still close enough to access the major destinations easily. Some of my favorite parts of my stay were the quiet walks home.

A lovely authentic Japanese home. Well designed with all of the essentials. A nice quiet neighborhood close to amenities and the city center.

这次和好友一起去关西玩，在小黛家住了三个晚上，真的很棒，典雅的日式榻榻米别墅，内部装饰的也很漂亮，住在里面非常有代入感，别墅位处京都富人区，环境非常好，虽然不在市中心但配套设施很好，地铁和便利店都是极短的步行范围内。然后，小黛姐人真的超级好！很热心，入住之前不厌其烦的在微信上回答我各种问题，到京都当天更是开车来山科站接我们，然后给我们详细的介绍京都应该怎么玩，怎么坐车，还让我们碰到问题随时微信上联系她，最后一晚还拿出珍藏的红酒招待我们，给我的感觉不是房东，而是多年的好朋友在日本招待我。

It was a nice, almost four storey apartment. The place is 20 mins away from the station. But it was a nice walk from the station if the weather is good. The view from the place is great. You can see the lake and the mountain. We love the nature the most.

this is a most amazing place we have ever stayed with air bnb, kitchen is equipped with all necessary cooking stuff and even various seasoning, bedrooms are superb.... Children have plenty of space inside the building and backyard for running, the space is more than enough for our 12 people group. ......... Perfect.......
