Best vegan pizza in town. But cheese is not vegan? That's right most of their pizza's are cheese-less (there are some vegan cheese options), but I promise you that you won't miss it for a second.
This venue doesn't accept bookings and is extremely popular, so there will be a long queue on Thursdays till Sundays. Usually the queue moves pretty quickly though.
But if you want to beat the queue we recommend either going early and arriving a bit before opening at 6pm or go for a late night dinner around 9pm.

If you don't feel like cooking but not in the mood for anything fancy either give "Lentil As Anything" a try. This venue has some great all vegan dishes and works with volunteers and operates on a pay what you want model.

This is a Maltese restaurant (Malta is a island near Italy)
They serve traditional pastizzi which are filled pastries and are great for lunch or late night snack. But we can also recommend their pasta's, the Maltese kitchen is a lot like Italian but slightly more seafood oriented.
Their coffee is also very good.

Almost every suburb has it's own brewery. Newtown is no exception our brewery is called Young Henrys and they made a tribute beer called "Newtowner" which we absolutely love, it's a refreshing Australian pale ale that's suitable for any occasion.

Parks & Nature
Sydney park is only 10min walk away from the house. We love going there for a quick run or a walk on a weekend morning.

Our favourite beach in the City, the beach is protected by the bay so there are barely any waves which makes it very good for swimming.
On busy days we walk a bit further to "Little congwong beach" which is a unofficial nudist beach, the nudist don't really phase us (all though we don't participate!) but it means that beach is a lot quieter then it's bigger brother.

(Little) Marley beach are 2 beautiful beaches along the famous coastal track. Due to it being in a little bay the beaches are pretty well protected from the waves which makes it great for swimming.

The walk is beautiful and takes you past another great swimming hole the deer pools. Usually when we go we walk to the beach first to swim in the sea, then when we go back we stay at the deer pool for a while and swim there to wash of the salt.

(Little) Marley beach are 2 beautiful beaches along the famous coastal track. Due to it being in a little bay the beaches are pretty well protected from the waves which makes it great for swimming.

Garie beach is a amazing beach in the Royal national park that you can drive to. The waves are pretty strong but on most days there will be lifeguards present.

Getting Around
Avoid morning rush hours on Newtown station, the trains departing from St Peters are a lot less crowded in the mornings.
Afternoon rush hour depends on wether you're getting onto the train before Town hall or not. If at Town hall or after, it's better to get on a train to st Peters
