I love the Sampleroom because they have something for everybody. My BF loves their burger. I love their Saturday and Sunday brunch till 3pm.
Small plates or large meals with some vegetarian options. They also have a good cocktail menu if you want to have just a drink and a snack at the bar. nice patio and you can walk down to the Mississippi River and check out the sunset after dinner.

There might be a wait depending on when you go but you can put your name on the list and they will call you when your seat is ready. There is an ice cream and crepe place across the street for dessert!
If you end up needing to wait and the Hai Hai bar is full, you can put your name on the list and have a drink at Grumpy's bar across the street while you wait.
I have also added my name to the list and walked back home to wait for them to call.

2121 University Ave NEHai Hai is an ultra hip restaurant with a menu based on Vietnamese street food-only 3 blocks away. I love their Hanoi sticky Rice bowl. They have lots of cocktails featuring exotic fruits and fresh pressed cane sugar. There might be a wait depending on when you go but you can put your name on the list and they will call you when your seat is ready. There is an ice cream and crepe place across the street for dessert!
If you end up needing to wait and the Hai Hai bar is full, you can put your name on the list and have a drink at Grumpy's bar across the street while you wait.
I have also added my name to the list and walked back home to wait for them to call.

2205 California St NEThis is a great place to get work done during the day. Most regulars are working on their computers or having meetings. They have a solid lunch menu using fresh and organic ingredients. I love their Chicken Chili- its very filling for a good price.
They also have an amazing collection of local pottery and art for sale. It is located in a building with many art studios.
I'm a big fan of this place for their burritos and tacos. They also have tasty margaritas in their back bar. You can do the deli style and order on the line or you can sit down in the back and order from their full menu.

2500 University Ave NEI go to Stanley's for lunch during work a lot. This is a great place- not too fancy, not a dive bar, but just right. They have a solid menu of lunch, dinner and bar food. great for family.

I love the owners of this Restaurant. This is a Greek owned and operated place. Their food is delicious and very garlicky. Their dining room showcases the work of Zoran Mojsilov , a well-know local sculptor who is also a regular.

This place isn't super close to my apartment, but is still considered to be in Northeast Minneapolis. This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Minneapolis. I love their late night happy hour for sushi and Ramen. Their Tonakatsu Curry Ramen made spicy with peppers is great if you have a cold- it really clears the senses. I love their brunch and always have good food, good drinks and a good time when I go to LUSH. They have a Saturday drag brunch that is really fun but you have to book ahead and spaces go fast.
I love this restaurant and love their Saltado! This Ecuadorian owned place has great food- lots of interesting flavor and all made from scratch. The service is more laid back so you have to be a little patient if they are busy. The dining room is very casual.

I love this place. Owned by a Tibetan couple with a lot of sushi restaurant experience, the prices are good and the menu is huge. Try their Tibetan Momo dumplings.

331 Club has no cover live music every night. They also have fun trivia on Fridays at 7pm. Their bathrooms do not smell good- I'm just going to warn you right now. Their patio is pretty nice and a good place to hang and make some local pals.

First Ave is a great venue to check out live music. Every event is ticketed so check out their website to see what is coming up. It is in a former flour factory so you can see some of the abandoned equipment and learn about how the factories were powered by the Mississippi River. Lots of interactive exhibits for the whole family! if you are a 1000% pure nerd, you can also check out the lock and dam center across the street.
The area around this Museum is nice so you can walk around and look at the River and the Stone Arch Bridge.
In the summer, (Saturdays May-October from 8-1pm) there is a Mill City Farmers Market, so you could have breakfast at the market and then head to the museum. That is basically my dream day.
