Great for kids if sunny day!
Artis also hosts evenings which is also very nice during summer period. There is life music and can have drinks, really great experience for evening with the kids! Suggest to take an uber there as public transport bit more complicated. Will cost c.12 euros (not more than 15 for sure).

If you want real local (simple) food experience go here! Great place also for kids, you cannot make reservations so need to be a bit lucky if there are seats left but most of the time they accomodate well. They are cheap but offer good quality.

Nice place to sit outside and drink a coffee, hot coco, beer or soda when you are at the Vondelpark. Situated at the back of the Vondelpark in the corner. Has a big sandpit and a small playground for young children.

Very nice shopping area with high end clothing stores and brands. Also a lot of restaurants and cafe's and near the canals and Rembrandtplein. The Utrechtsestraat is a typical and pretty piece of Amsterdam!
